Went for lunch with a friend. The shop is in a non-descript house-front. We ordered at a counter window. The lady was curt but courteous. She makes one kind of bahn mi. It was really good. The bread was crusty and warm. The various meats paired well with the pate and pickles. The flavors were strong and balanced. The price was reasonable for the size of the sandwich. Recommended. I’ll return.

I’ve had a lot of Bahn-mis and this is up there with the best. Veggies are fresh, perfect little kick from some thinly sliced jalapeño, bread was crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. You know it’s gonna be good when it’s someone serving them from a kitchen connected to their home. $4 per is a steal. This is my family’s go-to spot for banh mi. As others have mentioned, 1 type of banh mi, and it is the cold cut – very delicious and affordable at $4.75 each (doesn’t get much cheaper or tastier than this, folks)! In fact, I’d go as far to say it is the best in Iowa! At someone’s house, service is very friendly, cash only, call ahead to place your order, especially if you are ordering many. Highly recommended!

Very interesting location, right out of a residential home. Service is very fast and simple. No menu needed, I just asked for “one banh mi” and that was it.
