This is the place you want to be if you want great food in a classic place with excellent service, excellent music (and live music), and unbelievably fair and reasonable prices.
Remember the concept of value, people? It’s alive and well here, but without compromising on quality. The food and drinks are SPECTACULAR.
Love how nice and chill the bartenders are – no BS.
Honestly, stalwarts like Mekong Bistro are becoming more and more popular because people are tired of being fleeced by their new strip mall restaurants where servers are cranky, the food is mediocre, and prices are absurdly high.
Want to experience what still makes Portland fun and chill?…and still leave with being able to afford your rent?!
Go to Mekong Bistro. You’ll be happy you did.
the Hood” was one of the kindest people I’ve met in a very long time. The karaoke station is set up self serve, the locals were so welcoming, and the joint has family vibes. We left our cell phone there by accident and realized after closing ~ but the owner stayed there another 15 minutes for us to drive back to get the phone! Just do very kind. I’d def return 😉
The decor is much nicer than you would expect based on the location (it’s basically in a small strip mall on 82nd). The interior is very clean and you can tell the owners care about their restaurant. Overall, really great experience and I’ll be back!
From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted by the friendly and attentive staff, who make you feel like part of the family. The restaurant itself is cozy and inviting, perfect for a casual meal or a special gathering. One of the highlights of Mekong Bistro is its versatility as an event venue. If you’re planning a party or special event, you can rent out the space by getting in touch with Saron, the owner. They’re open to hosting various events, making it a great option for celebrations of all kinds.
The menu features a wonderful array of Cambodian dishes, with options to satisfy a range of tastes. Whether you’re in the mood for flavorful drunken noodles or the aromatic Kao Pune, a traditional noodle soup, you won’t be disappointed. The food is consistently delicious, prepared with care, and rich in authentic flavors.
The bar adds another layer of enjoyment to the experience, allowing you to sip on a refreshing drink while you dine. Overall, Mekong Bistro stands out not just for its excellent food but for its warm, welcoming service and the sense of community it fosters. It’s a place where you can enjoy a great meal and feel right at home.
