Finding a gluten free option that has great flavor can be difficult. This place nailed it!!! My wife and I always get the Desiree’s plate with brisket and we have been back every week. The crunchy rice is cooked perfectly, the brisket is seasoned and cooked to perfection and the homemade peanut sauce is to die for! The portions are big and the owner is super nice and friendly! I recommend this place to everyone I meet!

Had the Arepas Con Carne+ and it was absolutely delicious. It’s a generous portion, artfully presented and has a fantastic mix of textures and flavors. The meat is tasty and plentiful and the veggies fresh and crisp.
The service was great and genuinely kind.
This is in Southern Market so the setting is great, with lots of comfortable seating.

I stumbled upon Mekatos in the southern market in Lancaster and haven’t gone a week without it since. I’m OBSESSED. I always get the Desiree with brisket. Everything about it is perfect. The Brisket is tender and juicy, the vegetables are fresh, the peanut sauce is spicy, the mangos are sweet, and the crunchy rice is out of this world. My husband brings me every Thursday. I’m gluten free and suffer through a lot of bland or terrible food, so I’m extra thrilled to have found a safe place for me to eat with so much flavor. The owners are super nice and friendly. You can dine in, take out, or even order ahead if you’re in a hurry. We love it there!

Mekatos is located in the Lancaster Southern market and they are a Laos & Colombian fusion. My husband and I are obsessed with Desiree‘s plate the brisket one, but the chicken is good too. We just like the texture complexity of the brisket version. It has so much flavor and the crispy rice is so yummy! Whether dining in or taking out we’ve always been happy with the quality!

Excellent fusion spot in the Southern Market. The staff were very friendly and gave us a sample of the sticky rice as we were unfamiliar with it – so good! We had the sancocho (special of the day – Colombian) and Desiree’s plate with chicken (Laos). My boyfriend enjoyed how hearty the sancocho was, but said it was a bit too sweet due to the carrots. He still ate it all though! Desiree’s plate with chicken had tasty sticky rice, chicken, and vegetable slaw with a peanut sauce on top to tie it all together. We will definitely be eating here again!

I was greeted by a very kind gentleman who immediately offered me a sample of the crispy rice. I ordered the crispy rice. He offered me a side of salad and when I commented on how good the beef smelled, he also offered me a sample of that. The food was amazing. Arguably one of the best bites I’ve had in Lancaster!

Wowowow, look I haven’t had something so exciting and delicious in a long time. The fusion tacos with brisket was mind blowing. The flavors and crunch. The homemade hot sauce was super spicy and delicious. I can’t wait to come back this might be my favorite bite in all of lancaster!
