New owners.. The service quality has hit the floor. If you have been going to Mei mei for 40 years and are coming back for that good quality Chinese food. You will be disappointed. I guarantee you. The best thing was always the young chow rice which now has chunks of fat instead of pork. They just do not cook the same. They sold the store not their recipe!

Easily some of the best Chinese food in the area, if not in all of New Jersey. My family and I go here as often as we can (which ends up actually being about once a month). Definitely get the salt and pepper shrimp, mei fun, beef chow fun, and the lobster with black bean sauce!

My family has been coming here for decades! After today it’s over. Rice dry, pork overcooked like the rice was old. General Tso dry probably old, wings bland with feathers! New ownership ! Time to say bye to a childhood favorite! They need to change the name as well!

Being a Rutgers alum, this place has not changed! When you walk in, it’s the sound of families speaking, friends chatting and the employees/owners checking on new and regular customers. This location is about 5 minutes from college Ave by car.

NEW OWNERSHIP… went downhill in my opinion. I ordered Pork with garlic sauce, and it is mostly breading with tiny strips of pork. The pork was tender, but the dish was so spicy I couldn’t eat it. Also, the water chestnuts so tiny, I couldn’t pick them up with my fork… can’t imagine using chop sticks. Also got the Chicken chow mein and chicken was stringy, obviously frozen, and the chinese vegetables seemed liked lettuce and onions!! No mushrooms in either dish. The pork had the HUGE black hot peppers. Egg drop soup was super salty and more broth than egg pieces. Will only order from here again if someone else pays for it.

Please do not waste your time with this restaurant. my wife had shrimp w/ broccoli and shrimp fried rice. I had chicken wings and French fries. I am not exaggerating. Both meals were horrible. I would never, NEVER ever go back to this place to even get a can of Soda. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!

The food tasted fresh and delicious and you get a good portion size! It’s a family business so they were all friendly. My wife ordered the shrimp fried rice I was surprised in the amount of shrimps it had. I had the General Tso’s chicken combo and it came with a huge eggroll.

3.5 stars. This place is cash only! My favorite things to get here are the egg rolls and the tangerine beef. My biggest thing with the food here is that the meat quality is hit or miss.

Most overrated Chinese food I’ve ever eaten. We checked out the place because it has great reviews??? Where have you other reviewers been eating? 1st off, the boneless ribs has this redder than normal sauce – the pork was poor quality and portions are small, while all the prices across the board are higher than most Chinese places. 2nd the dumplings are made with thin wonton wrapper …most places use a thicker won ton dough. And lastly, Even the rice is the poorest of quality , the grains are so small and the rice is mushy – just stay away
