House burger with an egg was just right. I would pick the waffle fries over the fries and the salad is good too. My friends got Phillies and said they were the best.
One of the waitress referred to the hostess as “Mom” so this is probably a deep local family that has a lot to lose if your food is bad. Hopefully they can keep up the good work.

My husband and I stopped by for lunch because we wanted to check the place out. It was chicken fried steak, with mashed potatoes and gravy and corn on special for lunch. It was so good, color me impressed. I’ll definitely be returning to that place.

Had the pulled pork special it was really good some of the best pulled pork I’ve had in a long time . Mac and cheese was really good to . My wife had the breaded chicken sandwich and it was delicious as well. Good prices and friendly atmosphere and people will definitely be be back !

Meg’s has a solid menu. Burgers, sandwiches and salads are tasty. They carry mass quantities of Busch Lite, a necessary thing for any bar in this part of Iowa.
Last night they were out of several appetizers. Seems to be a regular problem; we have eaten here several times.
Biggest problem is service or lack thereof. After putting in our orders we never saw our server again. This is a local bar with strong ties to the town and most of the locals seem comfortable with how things are done here.
