We opted for the steak frites. I agree with other reviews in that it’s a good concept but not executed super well at this location. Steak was very thin. The frites were seasoned well. In my opinion the plate is quite small so if they didn’t come with seconds you’d be leaving hungry.
We were sat to the left of the entrance which after walking to the toilet felt like we missed a lot of the ‘show’. In the middle section you can see them preparing the food/ slicing the steak.
We also ordered their special ‘portobello mushroom’ for the table but we all agreed it tasted watery and bad and even worse was $11 for one thinly sliced mushroom!
Service was okay but could definitely be more attentive. Were a few times we had to flag down for more drinks.
The service was impressive, very attentive & on top of clearing off the tables and making sure we have all that we need. Our server was Brit & she was excellent! Really personable and handled a party of 10 w ease.
Loved the lighting in the place & excited to come back here!
I feel like it’s misleading. They sell you a prix fixe menu, so it seems fancy, but the appetizers are literally just bread and salad. You can get that with your meal kind of anywhere.
I ordered my steak medium for the first and medium rare for the second, after I saw how “medium” the first was one was. I think it might have been because they add sauce or because the steak is so thin, but it came out tougher than I wanted. Barely medium well. The “medium rare” steak was better, but not by much. Most of the flavor comes from the sauce, which is like gravy. I wish I’d just had lightly seasoned steak with some butter. I got my “seconds” to go.
I ended up paying extra for portobello mushroom, but was not told it would cost extra. I was told that they were serving it with the steak and agreed to it, not knowing I was being upsold. Avoid this. They give you very little for $11. It was good, but not THAT good.
I went on a weekday night, so it wasn’t crowded. My waiter was attentive and I got everything pretty much right away. But it wasn’t what I would call an “upscale” experience and I would’ve liked better.
The experience wasn’t as great, mainly due to service and the timing of the food.
We were served the salad first (not the bread and butter). It was soggy as I believe it left out for sometime.
After a good amount of wait, the bread and butter was served (3 pieces between two people). The bread was good, crispy outside and soft inside, but the butter was very hard to spread on the bread.
Our drinks still hasn’t come and I had to remind our server to look into it to.
After that the steak too took a long time to come, this was espicillay disappointing to me as I was pretty hungry and the time between meals were too long, they were just wetting my appetite and the wait was a killer.
The steak, fries and the sauce were pretty good. I had medium rare which was pretty well done (pun intended). They do bring a second serving of the steak and fries which is a pleasant surprise, but unlike the first time , they just brought it for us together in a large tray and served us. It was tough and chewy the second time. I don’t know why they can’t just serve a bigger portion the first time.
The couple next to us were having their steak when we got our salad, and they only got the second serving after we were finished. They waited more than 30 min for the second serving.
We didn’t wait for the desert as we were afraid it would take a long time.
Also they let my glass go empty of water twice (only refilled once and that too after a long time).
There are some pros to this place,as the table cloth was made of paper and they provided crayons to have some fun and the ambience was also good.
I think the issue all boils down to less staff and an issue with proper management and timing. Hopefully they can make this better.
Ky was very attentive.
This is a very short menu. It is a prix fixe menu. Salad, steak, fries.
We also got the mushroom and ice-cream sundae.
The cocktails were good, I wouldn’t order the pineapple mule if you don’t like a very ginger forward drink.
The steak was cooked perfectly. The sauce was good.
The sundae is not gluten-free.
I loved it. I thought it was great. But one member in our party has celiac. No desert is gluten-free and they dont have a bread option for her.
We agreed to go back. Over all dinner was delicious.
Bread was hard, salad was a bit soggy and the steak & eggs were overdone and just okay.
I might give it another try once they’ve worked on their timing and get the menu down, but it is several steps down from what I experienced before. I was a huge MR fan and was very excited to have one close by.
Photos from diff locations here. All steaks ordered medium rare and and all brunch – see for yourself.
