Mecca has the coldest beer in town. The locals were welcoming to us tourists that stopped in for a few brews. The service and bartender were great. Would go back but I know that I will never be back to Fairbanks Alaska again.

Alright, it might not be the cleanest or friendliest place ever but ended up going here twice during our 5 day stay. It has a dive bar feel, the locals might sho you away, and stuff might get rowdy and go down there. So why give it 5 stars? Because it’s the local culture, our group went with the intentions to see and talk to locals. Some were friendly, some weren’t. But it was all in good fun. Don’t go there with the thought you’re finding a family friendly watering hole, it’s not that kind of place. Have a beer, play a song on the jukebox and live in the moment

Checked it tonight at 830pm. Pretty chill place and nice and quiet. Only 10 people in here.

Unfortunately like many of the bars here in Fairbanks their bartenders lack the skill of actually being bartenders they have not a clue how to make a drink whether it’s martini, margarita, Bloody Mary, Long Island. It’s a joke don’t even bother so gross will pay and I walked out as a point. It was so gross new owners lol whatever used to be my favorite Watering Hole

So I read the reviews and decided I wanted to see some real Alaska. The reviews are ridiculous, this is an amazing dive bar to get a real feel of Fairbanks. The bartender, while tired after New Years, was really great and throws anyone out who is intoxicated, into a cab. He was a no nonsense kind of guy who when he heard the f-word dropped that was it. I’m a small girl and completely obviously NOT native to the area. I had a lot of fun and am hoping to go back when my mom comes back to watch my kiddos. Great atmosphere and a good time. Ignore the guys who are starving for a woman and be nice. It’s as simple as anywhere you go when you are looking for a dive bar and real Fairbanks people. I loved it and I hate that the reviews are all negative. Want to go drink and chill at a dive bar, this is a great place to do so, and super cool because they have this mirrored ceiling. Hope anyone who goes there has a great time!

If you’re looking for a native bar that your wife is going to get harassed at this is your spot. The bartender was very friendly and tried to get the guy to stop harassing my wife but he was obviously drunk and wouldn’t take the hint. Because of that we only had the 1 drink and went back to midnight mine to hang out.
