Had high expectations because 4.7 review, but the food was subpar.
Got the mean grille platter – the chicken was rubbery and tasteless, unimpressive lamb, beef tenderloin and sausage it was $49!
Also got a wrap, pita was dry.
We did like the fried cheese sticks… But not enough to come back for anything.

Wow this was so yummy after the gym. Had an intense leg day then fueled up with some quality nutrition. Feeling real good about this spot. Only here on vacation but I’ll be back!! About $18 a meal or if you want just protein for my gym bros you could do 2 servings of just protein for about $15.

From a service standpoint everything was just fine. The restaurant is clean also. However the food is terrible
I got the lamb/beef platter and the protein was like having jerky. Why on earth is it rubbery hard? Also the rice literally has 0 flavor
The cheese sticks seem to have come from a frozen box and flash fried. For $15 for the platter you’d be better off getting double the portion at Kasra or Istanbul grill

Mean Grille Mediterranean is an absolute gem! The food is exceptionally fresh and clean, with every dish presented beautifully. Portions are generous, making it a great value, and everything we tried was packed with flavor. A highlight was discovering their original Turkish sodas – such a unique touch that you don’t see everywhere. From the taste to the presentation, everything feels carefully crafted. Highly recommend if you’re looking for authentic Mediterranean food with big flavor and a memorable dining experience!

The food here is fresh and absolutely delicious, healthy and well priced!!! We ordered the hummus, governors plate, a salad, dessert sampler and white wine. Everything was perfect and three of us shared all of it. The sauces and meats with the governors plate provided good variety and the veggies were nicely grilled. We will definitely be back!

I recently visited Mean Grille and ordered the Beef Tenderloin Grilled Plate, but unfortunately, the experience was a major disappointment across the board.
The Food
Beef Tenderloin: For a “grilled” plate, there was zero grilled flavor. The meat was completely unseasoned and incredibly bland, failing to deliver any of the bold Mediterranean spices you would expect.
Basmati Rice: This was easily some of the worst rice I’ve ever tasted. It lacked the light, fluffy texture that makes basmati great.
Value: At $25 for the plate, the quality simply wasn’t there. It felt significantly overpriced for the level of cooking provided.
Atmosphere & Service
The restaurant was completely empty of other customers while I was there, and after eating the food, it’s easy to see why. Between the lack of flavor and the high price point, I won’t be returning.

Just noticed this place passing by, decided to stop in and try it out. Wish I was able to speak on the quality of the food but I couldn’t get past the terrible service. The place was completely empty and I attempted to use the restroom before I placed an order. Apparently a code was needed so I went to the counter and asked for the code. The lady informed me that the restroom is for paying customers only to which I replied, I am about to be a paying customer and I really would appreciate the code to use the restroom first. She informed me I was only able to use the restroom if I first buy a drink. I replied, that I would prefer to have a water with my meal and would really appreciate it if I was able to have the code so I didn’t have to rush my order because I really needed to use the restroom. The lady denied my request and ultimately I made the decision to take my business elsewhere where I might not face so much scrutiny as a customer. I guess I now know why they call this place Mean Grille.
In response to the owner: I am aware that in some businesses restrooms are code locked to serve customers only. So, when I went to the Argentina Cafe Empanada Factory after leaving your establishment, asked to use the restroom they had no issue providing me with a code because they recognized I was also a customer (amazing how that works!). As a result, they not only received my business, delicious empanadas I might add, but a positive review too. I also recommend that you as an owner, for future reference, might simply just offer an apology for the misunderstanding instead of doubling down on the lack of courtesy, shown by your staff, with a lazy reply.

First time in Houston and our first time at Mean Grill — and we already know this will be our regular stop whenever we return! My favorite was definitely the tenderloin steak (no even a word on it!!!!!) and falafel which is harmonized with various herbs, but the entire menu carries refined, subtle touches of Mediterranean cuisine, each dish with its own distinctive flavor profile. All the sauces are homemade, which elevates the experience even further. And the highlight of the evening: Chef Onur personally served us, really cool and friendly guy. Truly a remarkable gastronomic experience in the heart of TX

Delicious flavors all around. Everything is good here. Clean, open and airy atmosphere makes for a very pleasant dining experience or easy pick up/takeout experience. Having a new Turkish/Mediterranean restaurant option in the neighborhood is a welcome addition. Always feel happy and satisfied after eating here. Onur provides top notch service while dining in or ordering takeout. This location is a must for your family’s rotation of dining out or pick up/delivery.
