Atmosphere and Food is Excellent!
You feel just like you’re dining in the rugged halls of Berk! High rafters, wall murals covered in characters, wooden chandeliers, and low lighting really set the tone.
You can order food using the QR code on your table, which pairs with an app. From there, the food is brought directly to you (and you may be recognized and greeted! “It’s been awhile Viking [Your Name]! Good to see you!”
Stormfly’s Catch of the Day is a fun after-meal dessert worth trying.

I was SO pleasantly surprised by this! No wait to sit during peak lunch hours, the food was great, and I highly recommend the platter- it was an affordable way to feed our family of 4 quickly and for a reasonable price. The food was a delicious break from the typical park food. (Stoick’s ale was also delicious). Bonus: we got a visit from the twins while we were here!

f you’re a How to Train Your Dragon fan, you’re going to love the Mead Hall at Epic Universe. The décor is incredibly detailed—every corner truly feels like you’ve stepped into the Viking world of Berk.
We started with the Nordic Harvest Salad, which was a pleasant surprise. The portion was big, the flavors were fresh and tasty, and the price felt very reasonable for a theme park.
For our main dish, we shared the Thawfest Platter, and it was absolutely delicious. It comes with wild berry BBQ–glazed chicken drumsticks, grilled salmon, sausage links, roasted carrots, Cipollini onions, Nordic fries, and a variety of dipping sauces. Everything was well-seasoned, cooked perfectly, and the mix of flavors made it really fun to share.
Another perk: no reservation needed. We walked in, picked a table we liked, scanned the QR code to order, paid, and the food was brought right to us. Super convenient and stress-free.
Overall, the Mead Hall is a must-visit—great theming, hearty food, and a smooth, modern dining experience. If you love How to Train Your Dragon, this place will make you feel right at home in Berk.

Dining at Mead Hall was a pleasant surprise. The food felt like real, satisfying meals, not typical theme park food, and pricing was reasonable. Highly recommend the Nordic Salad with salmon, meatballs, and the dessert “Catch of the Day.” which is a very good chocolate mousse.

Highly recommended! The platter is enough for 3!!! Three drumsticks, four sausages half links, fries, grilled onions, and carrots. The meatballs are delicious and it serves with gravy and jam. The serving speed is fast and there will be random characters coming out. Would be a peak time during 12-2pm.

Real food at a theme park! Ordered the grilled platter, salmon and mead. Took awhile to get our order, but everything tasted very fresh. Expect to pay ~20pp without soda

this was the best meal i had while at universal. incredible. someone in these reviews claimed the mediocre swedish meatballs at IKEA are better and i believe they should be locked up in a psych ward for evaluation. i don’t really like meatballs in general. IKEA swedish meatballs are gross. italian meatballs are gross. these ones, however? the only meatball dish i have ever completely finished. you have turned me into a meatball connoisseur in one sitting. i will now compare every meatball dish i have in the future to this one. it was so delicious it almost makes me want to get in touch with my distantly nordic ancestry. i feel honoured to have eaten this. thank you

Get the turkey wings just for the photo op and to feel like a Viking! They were a bit tough to eat (I would have preferred the turkey leg) and the potato was undercooked. The coffee was hands down the worst coffee I have ever had. However, it was quick service, a great atmosphere, and the carrots were good, so were the fries and kids meals.
