Came here for a quick bite and disappointed. The place was pretty much empty and still waited 40 minutes for our food because an order ahead of us. I’m wondering when the place is full if this is an issue. Waitress was short and in a hurry. The Bloody Mary was excellent however. Ordered no tomatoes on salad and it came with a ton of them. Fries were over salted. My boyfriend ended up leaving half his food there. This was my second time here because every small business deserves second chances. The first time I was here it was the same issue with wait times. This place needs better kitchen management. There is also no instruction when you walk in if you seat yourself or how their system works.

Excellent food, prices & service! Truly one of my favorite fish fry’s in the area and I’m fussy! Stacy is a fabulous bartender/server and almost magical in her attentiveness. She intuitively makes beverages appear at the perfect moment you’re finishing the last one she served, even if its just water. There is a great team effort in caring for the patrons here and I appreciate that. A solid bar & grill!

There were 4 of us that visited on a Saturday night. We were seated right away, and the waitress attended to our table right away. The disappointment was with the food. I ordered the steak tacos. They were huge, but they put a spicy sauce on top of the tacos instead of on the side. I don’t care for spicy food, and have never had tacos served with a sauce on top. I could only eat one and didn’t enjoy it at all! Two other members of our party ordered the steak and shrimp special. They both ordered the steak medium, and they both came out well done, very thin and not much flavor. The 4th person ordered the steak quesadillas which were good. Our bill was almost $100, and we left feeling disappointed. I highly advise the chefs to serve the sauce that was on the tacos to serve it on the side! Not everyone likes spicy food!

It was my wife’s birthday and she wanted to try MD’s for dinner? I heard some good things so we came for dinner. We went in and sat ourselves at a table near the bar. It appeared that there were no waiters or waitresses, bartender does it all? We were one of just a few people in there. A female bartender came over to get our drink order and wasn’t very friendly, she had angry tone to her voice. She brought us our drinks and said they were about to have a shift change once the other bartender got there, and that she couldn’t take our food order? We would have to wait? Again, rudely stated! We sat there for quite a while and once the other bartender got there he began helping people who came in after us. I felt like we were 3rd class passengers on the bottom of the Titanic! After placing our food order it was rung up wrong and I had to wait for it to be remade. Not a great experience for us, especially on my wife’s birthday. Food was pretty good, but bad attitude and poor service by the female bartender.

First time here! Overall, I am quite impressed. My order of 20 wings, pictured below, were worth the wait. They were moderately sauced and had good flavor. Wings can only be ordered in batches of 10 though.

After a long day out and about to one festival or another we decided to give MDS a try as we gave up on Finn’s a while back. About 15 people in there, but we greeted pleasantly and given almost immediate attention. Kourtney was not only great to chat with, but she gave extra attention to my son who is Autistic and that goes a long way with me. Food came at an expected speed and was very nicely plated as well as tasty. My son can be picky when it come to sensory and he said everything was great except the chicken in his salad was dry. This is the only reason I gave a 4 instead of 5 stars. Overall, great place with good atmosphere and food. We will return.

Grew up in Wales, and watched the transition from The Ponderosa Bar, to Max’s Place, to Rusty Blade, over to Finn’s, and now Mad Dog Saloon. Living in Arizona, I also played softball for Mad Dog Saloon in Mesa, which now appears to be the new place in Wales, or for all technicality, Delafield. Anyways……….
Was supposed to meet friends for a fish fry at a restaurant in Waukesha, but by the time we got there, the place was packed, and there was no parking. We decided to try Mad Dog Saloon, but were a little hesitant, as we didn’t have very good results with the past “Finn’s” fish fry’s.
Pulled up into the large parking lot and found a place right away. Walked inside and the bar was filled – not a good sign – probably have to wait a while. But, here is the cheat code for Mad Dog Saloon’s fish fry – Walk into the back area where all the tables are, and get seated immediately, which is what we did. Within a minute, our waitress Amber had our drink order, and fish fry order. Lots to choose from, with the fry types, coleslaw or potato salad, etc. so you can customize your meal the way you want it.
Less than a 10 minute wait, our food was delivered to the table. Not only was everything served hot, the food was outstanding. I realize there are a lot of places to get fish fry’s in Wisconsin, but Mad Dog Saloon nailed this one. Our waitress was on top of the order, and was hustling around the whole area, going from the dining area, to the kitchen to the bar. She also had time to check on our table to make sure everything was good, and for refills – Amber was the best!
Great hot food at a nice price, outstanding service, and a great Wisconsin atmosphere. Cant go wrong with Mad Dog Saloon’s fish fry’s!
