I’m honestly disgusted by how this establishment handled a simple situation. Two people in our group accidentally knocked over a chair — that was the extent of the issue. Instead of addressing those individuals, the staff chose to cut off everyone at the table, including people who were completely sober and had done absolutely nothing wrong. That alone was excessive and unfair.

What made it worse was the behavior that followed. The two female bartenders openly stared us down for the rest of the time we were there, creating an uncomfortable and hostile atmosphere. They then proceeded to talk about us in front of us and to other customers, which was unprofessional, disrespectful, and completely inappropriate for any service environment.

The final straw was how the check was handled. Our check was taken before we were finished writing the tip, clearly so they could secure as much money as possible rather than earn it through service. Tips are meant to reflect the experience — not be rushed, forced, or taken prematurely.

This place doesn’t just stop serving people; they make it clear when you’re no longer “accepted,” then talk down to you while you’re still there. Accidents happen. Treating guests with contempt, gossiping about them to others, and prioritizing money over basic respect is a choice. We won’t be back.

Came here specifically for Guinness. One of the best pubs in Downtown Hoboken I could say. Never overly crowded. Good food. Good music. Good crowd. Loved the darts and pool. The best times to visit are weekday nights!

This pub is quite nice. They have Guinness beer for $11 at 4 pm, which was quite unusual since the last time I visited, it was $5.

Tried the beer, pasta, jalepenos poppers, good host and ordered on the app but the host is attentive. The host was kind enough to help to with the darts, Not so expensive for downtown, would want to go back again.

Dropped by to have a beer during the happy hours. The place was good but the staff was a bit distracted not sure why? Beer was nice and food was okayish not so great but has scope of improvement. I’ll go again and will recommend this place.

(07/08/23 SA @ 8:30pm). This was my first time here. My friend, her dog, and I enjoyed a couple of drinks out the front outdoor patio as we caught up with each other and people-watched since the pub is located on a busy corner. Rob, the front door security man, was awesome and chill to speak with.

We easily ordered using the table QR Code, which had their full menu. We ordered beers ($6.00 & $9.00, respectively) twice throughout the evening, and within a couple minutes each time, our drinks arrived.

Inside, it was your typical pub/sports bar with tables, a bar, a pool table, and plenty of TVs for various sporting events.

It was a rather young crowd this evening, and it had a nice locals neighborhood vibe.

I would consider returning to McSwiggan’s Pub, especially to try their food menu. I was disappointed with their standard draft beer selection and wished they had more local beer (draft or bottles/cans) representation. But as a first-time visitor, there was enough to bring me back.

Owner is rude when asking people to leave, makes you leave before they close at 2. you’re also not allowed to sit on the steps like any other bar allows while you wait for your ride. owner will open the door that’s right behind u, hit you with it and tell you to move. no thanks plenty of other places around .

was there w some friends last night and there was a big curly haired brunette bartender who was completely rude to me. i tried to pay with apple pay for 1 glass of wine and she told me I had to scan a QR code, it said confirmed on my end but she aggressively came up to me and grabbed me and said I didn’t pay for my $6 wine. ended up just adding it to my friends tab and sending the money to them but no tap to pay? and why so aggressive with me?
she also “cut me off” after 2 glasses of wine accompanies by an unpleasant smile. kinda proving a power play? asked for water then and she said no. overall made my experience anxiety inducing and uncomfortable.

Outdoor seating of a warm spring day. Order and pay via the app, but staff is still attentive.

The prices are very good and the food is ok. Nice vibe inside. Just really hated ordering throught the app like it was during coronavirus. Takes out the experience of connecting with people.
