I placed an order before I left work on the Eastside of Brockton and I was told my order would be ready in 15-20 minutes left my name etc. I called the order in at 3:55 and arrived at 4:20. They asked me my name and what I ordered and said 2 minutes. The person came back to the window and collected my payment and I gave a tip. 2 minutes turned into 40 additional minutes. Now I had paid for my food and a car was behind me. They asked me to move so they could take that other person’s order. .I said no not until you give me my order or my money back. My order took total 55 minutes. The fish was over cooked and didn’t taste fresh. More like frozen fish. I stopped going there over 2 and 1/2 years ago. I thought maybe things had changed. To my surprise things are still the same. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone because the service continues to be unacceptable. The family had an excellent reputation when they were downtown Brockton many years ago. I certainly won’t be going back.

Fantastic Seafood Spot!
This place is a hidden gem for seafood lovers. The clam strip basket was perfectly crispy and flavorful, and the lobster roll was fresh, buttery, and packed with meat. The fried oysters were a standout—lightly breaded and full of flavor. Fast service, great portions, and fair prices. Highly recommend!

Very old school walk up counter service seafood place. Food was excellent. The prices are reasonable. They do have a sit down bar as well. Would try again.

This restaurant is so humble looking from the outside (it’s shaped like a New England single family house) but it’s a classy eatery family owned. You attend a place like this anytime after 10a during the week or with a date because it’s a sit down restaurant that serves cocktails. After church on Sunday afternoon, friends visiting from out of town who want to experience New England seafood it’s tops.

Update: I ordered haddock and whole clams & it just looked disgusting. Honestly looked like kaka on my plate. See new updated photo. I will not be going again as I continue to waste my money at this place. Not worth the price. I was really disappointed that I had to trash my lunch.

I’ve had there food a few times. Each time I order the taste changes. I had the Cape cod platter with clam belly’s ( cost extra $3 )- not worth it and haddock. It came with French fries and Cole slaw. I didn’t even attempt to eat it, it didn’t look good. The food tasted ok. It could have been better this last time around. The prices are not reasonable for the amount of food they give.

Classic New England Seafood Shanty
No-nonsense, good old fashioned service and classic rustic dining room, insanely good food, fair prices.

They don’t make places like this anymore. This is a national treasure. My buddy and I had the fried fish balls, the crab cake, and some sort of assorted fried seafood platter. All phenomenal.

Wasn’t as good as I hoped. My hamburger was bland without any flavor from lack of seasoning. Clam chowder the same. Service wasn’t anything special. We were a party of about 14 people. But they really didn’t care. A window was broken, so we had to suffer the cold air the entire time. Not a recommended place for me.

Small place. A full service bar. You order at the front counter, you grab your own table, and they bring your food to you. Food is A little pricey. Free parking lot. Fried clams could have been cooked a little longer as the batter came off fairly easily when trying to pick it up to eat. Friendly staff. Clean bathroom. Cute decor. Lots of to go. They have a drive up window but I am not sure if that is for to go pickup only. Lots of menu selections. Popular with the locals. Been here a long time.

I feel that I was robbed for my hard earned money, $43 for a lobster plate and it was only a half a pound of lobster. I’ve been going to McMenamy’s for years, but will never go there again. The quality is horrible.

I gave this place a chance, I won’t even call it a restaurant because its far from that. I ordered a smelt plate which they gave me bait fish and called them smelts. I’ve never seen these alleged smelts this small In my life. Fries were soggy cole slaw was basura. The lemon seemed like it was already squeezed. This place is a disaster. NEVER AGAIN
