After a sad experience at this restaurant, I would not recommend them to anyone. The staff was very dismissive, as they went about serving other customers of a different ethnicity other than my own, which is African American before, even assisting me with a cup of water, you would think since we are in 2025 this would not be an issue. Still in all I ordered food that was horrible!!! I would love a refund….non the less, I would give them a 3 rating for the dessert.

Best BBQ in town. Their cashiers can be a bit hit or miss with attitude but other than that its always a great place to eat. Prices are fair and portions are large. Decent amount of seating. Beans are top notch. Wish they would add mashed potatoes to their menu. I’d be there every day if they did lol. Highly recommend them.

I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately the food just wasn’t up to Goode Texas barbecue standards. The brisket was dry and bland. It’s as if it was missing all the seasoning the bark on it wasn’t very deep into the meat the sauce jalapeño sausage, although spicy and fairy flavorful was extremely dry. The Poboy, which is a combination of their brisket and sausage, chopped up, finally was dry. Ended up using a lot of the spicy barbecue in order to make the brisket and poor boy more palatable.
The positive is that the staff are friendly and nice. The location has a great atmosphere although feels dated. It hasn’t been updated and feels a little neglected.
The men’s bathroom is disappointing. There was a large puddle of water. Didn’t know couldn’t tell where is coming from.
I’d pass on this location as I know that there’s much better barbecue around the area.
Note my rating system:
1 Star: I wouldn’t recommend
2 Stars: Didn’t hit my standards
3 Stars: Average (nothing special)
4 Stars: Above Average. Would recommend. Still looking for the 5 Star.
5 Stars: Top of their game. Great food. Great service. Would recommend and plan on returning.

The chopped beef was the best. I was traveling here for business and this was good bbq. I also ordered the burnt ends and they were just like I like. Dry and well done. Just added the BBQ sauce to put it over the top.

I have wanted to stop here and check this place out for awhile now. Finally we did and I’m very pleased that we did. It smells so good when you walk through the door. We ordered cheeseburgers and I add onion rings. The serve them dry and have a bar with everything you could want for your burger so you make them the way you like them and they have a nice hot pot of pinto beans that you can help yourself to. I highly recommend and I plan to return on my next trip to Huntsville and try some BBQ.

Really nice BBQ, not the first time here , pork ribs are amazing along with the coleslaw. They have 2 kind of BBQ sauce, regular and spicy jalapeño, the have it warm. Not like others they have the sauce at the table with no expiration date. Brisket is OK, not bad, solid BBQ. Will come back for more

Kids like the sausage and says it is a bit spicy .
Okra was a bit undercooked. Onion rings were very greasy…but edible.

My husband and I stop every time we are close. We live in Oklahoma and frequent Tx often. Love to eat there. We were in Dec 23rd and the dark headed lady taking the orders was about an unfriendly and condescending as I’ve ever seen in a restaurant. We were highly disappointed in service but the food as always was very good!

The cashier “Obviously did not want to be there” like walking into a funeral parlor. 11.28.2025
The Hispanic gentleman in the back is a little smart with his words when asked what is wrong with the ice machine “hold it down in a smart tone” well you have to hold it down for almost 15 seconds – must have missed the memo on that. 11.28.2025
I am a long time resident whom moved back to take care of my ailing Parents and decided to get a couple of sandwiches for my Father and I a couple of weeks ago- completely not suited for human consumption “Brisket was absolutely burnt” we threw it out and decided to go to HEB for replacement BBQ. It wasn’t the best but you could actually eat the meat.
30 years ago this was the place to go- now it sells BBQ just because it’s reputation from the previous generations good qualities, great customer service, and outstanding atmosphere. Nothing really ever stays the same…..

Use to be my favorite BBQ place in Conroe. Best ribs hands down. Until lately, they have been rubbery which means now they are boiling them and liquid smoking them. Unfortunately won’t be going back there any more.
