We are a family-friendly, non-smoking restaurant known to have the best burgers around. We’re open seven days a week for lunch and dinner and offer breakfast.

We have driven by the McKean Tavern many times on the way to visit family and never stopped in. Like they say, you can’t always judge a book by its cover. From the street it appears to be a run of the mill tavern, but once inside and you work your way to the back, this is a great find! The covered patio is warm and inviting. A lot more seating than expected, live music (when we were there) and great food!
Our large group ordered a variety of items and the pizza (Buffalo Chicken) was a hit. The sandwiches and fries were tasty and the drinks nice and cold.
Our server seemed a little frazzled probably due to the workload. The request for a martini was met with a strange look but accommodated. The request for an Old Fashion later on was that she had no idea what it was and further that we pushed our luck asking for a martini lol.
We will definitely be back the next time we are in town. Something to look forward to especially when the patio is open!
UPDATE: Returned again and were equally impressed. Same great food and service. MT does not disappoint!

Been here about once a year during Thanksgiving. Maybe best wings I’ve ever had. DFP and Pennbrier were such good flavors.

Cozy little tavern in the small town of McKean PA. Friendly atmosphere and a good place to come solo or bring the family. The employees were welcoming and the right amount of service. I will come again. I had the Chicken Baco Ranch sandwich with waffle fries.

We arrived late, the kitchen was technically closed however knowing we were traveling, they took our order and provided great hamburgers, fries and drinks with a smile. Great service served with about a dozen “no problem”, glad you stopped here. Thank you.

Our waitress Chelsea was amazing! Fast, friendly, & personable! We sat outside by the fire, listening to music, enjoying our awesome meals. My steak in my salad was cooked to perfecton. Generous portion sizes! A+

Lunch at this place was DA BOMB..!! DELICIOUS French Onion soup AND my Large BLT WITH A SIDE OF ONION RINGS was WORTH EVERY PENNY, my husband ordered the CHEESE STEAK SUB WITH FRESH CUT FRENCH FRIES. When our waitress brought it out, YOU COULD SMELL THE FRESH PEPPERS AND ONIONS..❣❣OMG…ABSOLUTELY TO DIE FOR❣❣YA’LL GOTTA STOP IN AND ORDER FROM THEIR “DELICIOUS MENU”..❣❣They have it all decorated for CHRISTMAS and it’s just such a COZY ATMOSPHERE ☃️❄

Great place to eat. The patio area is new and welcomes smokers. Bar is bright the dining room is full of wild life. Steak salad is loaded with steak! Servers are very friendly and efficient. Please try it…you’ll love it.

I highly recommend going here for A beautiful day. The place is stunning, The photo is great and so is the music. There’s plenty of room end of outside bar that’s very cool. If it’s anywhere near you check it out!

Honestly iv been here many times. Never had a bad experience. But this time on the back patio there were 4 girls working and not a single 1 came and asked us if we wanted menus. Nor if we wanted another drink. After 45 minutes I approached a girl and she got snappy right out the gate with me talking about well you guys have been getting drinks from the bar. I told her we got 1 drink paid for it and came and sat down. Not cool. Its Suppose to be fun and enjoy myself not have animosity with the waitress because I wanted food and drinks. I didn’t know if u got drinks from the bar you automatically dont get service on the patio note taken
