Absolutely loved it here. Great service, great Guinness and fish and chips. The Irish Stew was the perfect comfort dish, really felt homemade. Beware: if you’re going on a weekend, don’t expect a table without a reservation. I got very lucky, wish I knew for my visit.

First time here and it was disappointing. The fish and chips were just okay, a little bland and soggy. The pizza was pretty good. Service was the real issue: our food arrived at 6:45, we ordered another round with our waitress but after 30 minutes had to go up to the bar to get the drinks ourselves, and we didn’t see her again until 7:35 when we flagged her down for the check – honestly some of the worst service I’ve experienced. Drinks were good, but not worth the hassle. Also their dining chairs are SO uncomfortable.

Music was phenomenal, live band, a little too loud but fun. The food was excellent, try the spice bag! Service was friendly and authentic. Drinks were good. Best Guinness!

So much fan fare for this new pub in Dorchester. Parking can be hard. They do have a small lot otherwise it’s street parking. We were first sat at a round booth (4 of us). The circumference of the table did not match the booth. It was very awkward to sit. Thankfully our server was a pro and moved us to a table in the back room. That back area is huge.
One thing that bugged me was the state of the menus. Mine was dirty and had clearly got wet before. It is a small detail but it felt a bit sloppy.
What we got:
– Fish and chips (8/10): The filet of fish was huge. It came with coleslaw, tartar sauce, and a side of curry. The slaw is very mayo heavy but I liked it. The tartar is easily some of the best I have ever had. I never had curry with a chippy before, it was great. The only reason this is not a ten is because they serve the fish on top of the chips. It looks nice but it makes the chips soggy.
– Irish stew (10/10): This is a top notch beef stew. The meat was tender and the vegetables were cooked perfectly. Dipping the Irish soda bread into the broth is the move.
– Shepherds pie (8/10): Great presentation and a very strong lamb flavor. I would have liked more vegetables in the mix though.
– Pizza #2 (7/10): This is the pesto pizza. My friend ordered this and I have no idea why you would get pizza at an Irish pub. It was fine but definitely his fault for ordering it.
Bathroom Review:
Very clean men’s room. It is a shared setup with two urinals and one stall. The stall has a full door for privacy. No paper towels, only a hand dryer.

Great Irish bar in Dorchester. Solid Irish menu- both Irish stew and Sheperds pie were very good. Guinness was good, not great. Served too cold. Went on a Wednesday and they have trivia which was a bonus and plenry of TVs to watch sports. Bar looks excellent. We did not try the pizza but it tooked fantastic

Very busy but friendly atmosphere. Main dishes we ordered were Irish Stew and Chicken and leek pie. Both were spot on. The waitress was friendly and had an Irish accent. Got the sticky toffee pudding which was also delicious.

The hype is real, y’all. For months I’ve been hearing people talk about how great this place is, and it did not disappoint. Everyone in my party thoroughly enjoyed their meals, and while prices are typically high for the Boston area (though maybe a little higher than the norm for Dorchester), the portion sizes are mostly large enough that it feels like you’re getting your money’s worth. Not too loud for such a popular place, and the staff were all very attentive and accommodating. My one gripe might be that there isn’t very much space between the door and the host stand for people waiting to be seated, causing some crowding when a lot of people start coming in. My party was seated at the table closest to the door, so this meant that at times patrons waiting were crowded a bit too close. Aside from that, this was a 10/10 experience for me, and my friends and I will definitely be back soon.

Great beer and food, lovely service! I enjoyed the selection of cheese croquettes, fries, pizza, Cullen skink, and they have mayo, always a favourite of mine. Nice cocktail selection too.

Newly opened after renovation of the former Dorset Hall. I like it, but as the front windows are covered there isn’t the natural light you used to get in the upstairs area. A little claustrophobic, especially with how busy they are!
Plenty of space for large groups, party space in the lower level.
2 bar areas, this is a large establishment-more roomy than it’s counterpart The Dubliner (which I love).
They only recently opened and im sure kinks need to be worked out. The food was good but not great. I will definitely be back to try again. As mentioned they were also slam packed shockingly busy.
Burger and spice bag were well liked. I thought the chicken in the spice bag was the best thing I had!
I am not a curry person, I’m told the curry sauce at the other Irish restaurant close by is much better. The sausage rolls looked amazing, but I can say the ones at the other establishment are better as well. The sauce they came with was good, but didn’t seem like the right sauce for a sausage roll.
The pizza was good-but not something I’d go back for.
I’m excited to return and try more, especially Irish breakfast. Planning on going next week.
Very exciting addition to the neighborhood.
2nd visit. Unless someone else is wanting to come probably won’t be back for dinner service. Would like to try breakfast and lunch, i think I’d like those options more.
Chicken vol au vent very tasty but kind of a soggy mess (I’m the only one who liked them but I’ve had them before).
Steak tip dinner good portion, and nice. Salad came with some dressing all over it (I asked for ranch on the side). The dressing was delicious so I didn’t say anything, but at $32 I can certainly see why someone would.
Everyone really liked their spice bags and burgers tonight
The nachos weren’t good. Like, it’s hard to mess them up so not like they’re inedible. Dry, unseasoned chicken. Under cheesed chips. Bland overall. Lucys has spoiled us with excellent nachos if you’re looking for some, hold off and get them there.
I’ve been a few more times. It just isn’t the best food. If I was younger-I’d love it. Very young and clubby- the cocktails ive had are great. People like the Guinness. The only time anyone has liked their food is the spice bags, followed by the burger.
The lines have been crazy at times too. If you’re not there for the club;) and want a good meal and you’re in line walk over to scobies. Not a party but you’ll get a nice meal
