Great place right by the water. We enjoyed our meals – fish sandwich, wings, Florentine Benedict and clam chowder. Hugo cocktail was a little heavy on the syrup and the clam chowder was too watery for my liking. I found the service to be friendly and good, however, the amount of times the server asked us if we were doing ok, bordered on annoying.

First I had the two mini burgers and very crispy, textured fries. A good amount of fries. The service was a little slow but overall good. Nice atmosphere, right near Madison Beach. Got a watermelon margarita slushee, pretty good kind of small. And a large 14″ pizza, pepperoni, very nice crust. Calm, interesting architecture. Came during happy hour I got only three things but my bill was kind of pricey being 51 before tipping. Also receipt had no break down of prices which was odd but overall a enjoyable place. But kind of higher end price wise. Came in around 5pm.

We stopped here after a tennis match nearby. I hadn’t spent much time on Madison Ave on a Saturday night but McGilvra’s was the only open joint. I ordered the Shepherds Pie and it was good but not great. It did hit the spot however and service was good as well.

Best Salmon Caesar I’ve ever had! It’s my go-to entree. Fresh salmon, tasty seasoning, and fine Ceasar dressing. And I’ve been told by a reliable source that on the kid’s menu, the pizza, the burger and the strawberry lemonade are super good.
Staff are engaging and post personal attention to your experience.

We had a delightful lunch with family at McGilvra’s Bar and Restaurant. They were able to seat our party of 8 on a Saturday at noon despite making a late reservation.

Our party had the Fish and Chips, Mussels, Cob Salad, Pizza, and Fish Tacos. There were no leftovers, so you know everything was delicious. Our server Kristen was helpful and friendly, even shooting a really nice picture of us.

McGilvra’s is an adorable eatery near the waterfront of Madison Park. Parking is accessible, as are the views. The service was prompt and kind; my partner and I were surprised by how quickly we were seated on Sunday. A standout dish included the bourbon lobster bisque, while the crab benedicts and rueben were ok. I loved how crab bisque has strands of crab rather than chunks, which genuinely elevates this dish. Some of the pastrami inside the rueben was slightly overcooked and hard, but the composite flavors are all-on-all correct. The crab benedict was void of crab and drowned by the sauce. However, the accompanying potato wedges were noted to be of superior texture. The bloody mary and a prickly pear margarita were reasonable concoctions that perfectly accompanied our breakfast. Overall, I would return for friendly staff and the bisque.

This place has always been a favorite of mine, and I have to give credit where it’s due—the staff are consistently excellent, and the drinks never disappoint. On my last visit, I had a salad that was fresh and delicious, which made me look forward to trying something new this time around.

Unfortunately, the shrimp special fell short of expectations, especially considering its price of $23. While the shrimp itself was cooked well, the sides left a lot to be desired. The mashed potatoes tasted like they came straight from a box, and the vegetables were clearly frozen, lacking both freshness and flavor. Together, they made the dish feel underwhelming compared to the quality I’ve come to expect here.

That said, I won’t write McGilvra’s off. I’ll certainly be back for the atmosphere, service, and drinks, but I’ll be more selective with what I order next time.

Food is not bad but the manager I truly dislike her and I hope that she leaves.
She is nasty, rude and unfriendly unless she knows you are rich. You can’t ask her for something because she doesn’t even smile and while I was observing her I could notice the workers are afraid of her.
Please,if you want to have a good time don’t go to this place.

Unfortunately our first dinner stop while visiting Seattle.
I’d like to point out that they seemed understaffed and overwhelmed. Having said that, our waitress was really amazing. She never stopped running table to table inside and outside. The table assistant/busser was great too, obviously hustling and very busy.
Our meals came out after a long wait and unfortunately at room temp, not even warm.
The hostess came out to ” help” but did not seem very happy about it. When she brought our remade meals back part of the order was wrong, we let that go and enjoyed the food which was actually very good. When I thanked the hostess she gave a somewhat disgruntled seemingly forced smile…not a word.
All in all the waitress and busser were great. They were hustling the whole time we were there. The hostess….meh. Not very welcoming or personable. She definitely did not seem happy to jump in and help the overwhelmed staff with the abundance of patrons present. She did so begrudgingly and it showed. Kudos to the waitress and busser.
