McDonald’s has been a part of my life since early childhood days and kinda still is. I have leaned towards the fresh meat and potatoes of In & Out Burger these days. In & Out prices are also better than most fast food burger joints.
I walked into McDonals’s on Fashion Court and didn’t recognize anything that represented McDonalds. Call me old school, but I was looking for a register, instead, several kiosks were posted for customers who to make their own order. I actually felt lame using the machine…took me about 10 minutes to place my order and pay. Ugggh. Nonetheless, got it done and my order and granddaughter’s were ready for pick up. Actually, our order was dropped off at our table
The place was clean and modern. Empty at the time of our arrival. When we left, it got packed. I’m always down modern but the McDonald’s that I’m use to has live cashiers to take customer order and had McDonald’s decor. Where’s the huge “M” arch outside of restaurant? Its missing. This location looked sterile. Institution like.
Staff that came out the kitchen area was helpful. She pointed towards the kiosks and indicated that the kiosk was the only way to place orders. Didn’t like the answer but I had no choice.
I liked this location’s meal deals. Why can’t San Diego offer the same.
We ate our meal, left, and head back home to San Diego.

boy oh boy where do i even begin. this mcdonald’s is honestly the undefeated comfort food legend the kind of place that feels like a warm hug wrapped in a paper bag. No matter where you are or how chaotic life gets, those golden arches are always there, glowing with the promise of crispy fries, perfectly salty nuggets, and a burger that hits exactly the same every single time (in the best way). It’s fast, it’s reliable, it’s affordable, and somehow a McChicken and fries can fix a bad day better than most advice ever could. Typical McDonald’s brand new it just opened and the ice cream machine is broken. Perfect excuse so they won’t have to clean the ice cream machine. Guess we’ll have to go elsewhere where their machines are never broken.

I’ve gone twice, both times to get breakfast. One time I used drive through, no one ahead of me and as I waited at the second window, two cars were behind me. I had ordered 4 sausage mcmuffin with egg and one side of bacon. They asked me to pull forward to the third window. I counted 5 other cars all go through and get their food before I finally got mine. Second time I went was for two egg mcmuffins and a side of hash browns. Used the app this time. Several cars were waiting at pick up, but no one in drive through and maybe a few people inside. Clerk came out after about 10 minutes going to each car and did not deliver any orders, simply said they’re working on it. I waited another 15 minutes before walking inside. No customers inside and over half a dozen staff hanging around in the kitchen. I asked for my food and was told, sorry, we’re really busy. Seriously?! My food was cold, no customers inside and the other cars at pick up still waiting after 25 minutes. Poorly ran business for one that has so much potential. Will not be going back, I’ll go down to the one at 138 or over on main first.

Hamburgers are good. They’re soda machine is out of calibration. Sprite is nothing but carbonate water and no flavor. Never get the sauce’s correct. Don’t know who maintains their soda machine, but they need to be fired. We’ve notified them 3 times that soda machine needs to be repaired or recalibrated. Because the drinks taste terrible.

I call and ask them do they have it, I am told yes drive there order coffee no espresso it’s getting cleaned, go the next day no espresso it’s getting cleaned. Go today no espresso it’s getting cleaned. If you don’t have espresso just say that and mark it unavailable online. Wasting peoples time who has to be to work. Why lie? Like fix this and asap.
