NOTE this is the second time something similar to this has happened, both experiences below:
1. I attempt to get McDonald’s for me and my friend before an event we’re required to go to, and I get my food, waiting on the drink to my meal, which I was planning to give to her. This isn’t a fountain drink of course, it’s a frape and an extra shot of espresso because she needed the energy and can’t handle the carbonation most energy drinks have. And they tell us 10 more minutes for the drink, which would’ve been fine if it really was 10 minutes because we had a decent chunk of time. About 5-7 minutes go by, and we’re told 8 minutes. Of course, I’m thinking to myself ‘wait, that’s not how math works’ but we still had time, so it was ok. 20 minutes after the original 10 minutes estimate, we’re told 20 minutes. Now we need to start wrapping things up and get out and walk back to our school, so we go up and ask about the frape. “Oh, another 20 minutes” is what the manager is telling us. We tell them we need to leave and try getting a refund. The manager tries multiple times to get the amount right, which I was pointing at and telling him it should only be $3.50 after the upcharge of the espresso. After we finally get our money back for the frape, we had to get back to the school FAST and my friend was left both tired AND sad because she didnt get her drink.
2. Similar event, different people. My family are done after an event and want something fast and decently priced to pick up after, so we’re sure McDonald’s is a good idea
We placed a medium sized order and waited over 30 minutes for our it.
And it was cold. Could’ve been worse, but it could’ve been so much better

I am a dasher out of Lawton Ok, and I ended up getting a pickup doordash order for a small fry from this store around 10:25pm. As soon as I got there I was greeted with a great attitude and even better service, the gentleman up front made the fry fresh, bagged it and told me to have a happy new year, and it made my night. The store was clean, the food was fresh, the workers were in a good mood, it was refreshing. You guys are doing amazing!

Quite literally the worst service. We were a little late to grab our order and the curbside forced us to go to the drive thru—which took forever because the worker deleted the person’s order ahead of us and had to retake it. We waited for 5 minutes for our receipt just to have our time waisted because some new girl couldnt figure out the printer. Once we got to the second window for our food, my fries were cold and Mcflurry missing. My burger wasn’t plain and apparently their printer magically worked to have it say I got a regular burger with all toppings. Service was awful, slow, and it wasn’t even that busy at 7pm. The food is usually OK but tonight was awful. My fries were barely cooked and mostly just a slightly baked potato. A black man who worked there gave me extra fries for the inconvenience just for them to be pathetically limp and nasty. The burger was good. Go to Lawton for McDonald’s cause this is truley awful and not worth the wait.

This place is terrible the service is slow and they never do a good job at putting together your order. It took 25 to 30 minutes to get my food since I placed a mobile order I decided to wait. I got a nasty half and half lemonade today and it was water with a small amount of sweet tea. When I asked to have it done again and to add more sweet tea the rep who also gave me a medium size drink when I paid for a large told me that it would be another 10 minutes to wait for sweet tea because they were out. The service overall is not great but specially today it was terrible.

Why to not go: Typically slower than ordering a to-go order somewhere. It’s extremely rare to not be told to go pull over to spot to wait on your food. Which is extremely frustrating when you pre-order on their app. Example, I’m writing this order while waiting currently. Your order is often not put together correctly unless you actively correct them on the spot. I’ve been given the wrong drink often and had to turn down orders that weren’t mine.
Why to go: 98% of the staff is extremely nice

Wait times at the drive thru are often 20+ minutes. Be prepared to have them ask you to pull forward….. you’re gonna be there for awhile. To the owner, staff appropriately, work on your wait times. The food is good and usually accurate but the wait times are unacceptable for fast food and are almost ALWAYS that bad.

The crew at this McDonald’s is always smiling and ready to help their customers! I really appreciate their fast and friendly service here at the Elgin McDonald’s! Darrell and David are some of the best managers in fast food that I have encountered! I really miss Sarah and Kevin, they were also EXEMPLARY EXAMPLES OF EMPLOYEES AND MANAGERS!
