It’s been over two years since I last visited this McDonald’s location in Poplar Bluff (South Side). The restaurant itself is conveniently located, and the staff were friendly enough during my visit. However, I’ve found it hard to return due to my overall disappointment with the McDonald’s brand. The prices feel steep for the value provided, and the food doesn’t seem to have the same quality or taste I remember from years past. While this specific location is fine, the broader issues with the company’s pricing and food consistency have left me less inclined to dine here.

We went through the drive-thru at McDonald’s tonight at 7:14 PM and didn’t leave the window until 7:37 PM. Twenty-three minutes. For fast food. That alone is ridiculous.
Our order was simple: a Quarter Pounder meal with a Coke, and two Bacon Hot Honey McCrispys with a Coke. We repeated the order three times to an employee that must have had better things to do. When we got to the window, the receipt was already wrong. I tried to correct it, but the employee (I guess this was the employee in charge) just stared blankly like basic communication was an impossible task. No urgency, no comprehension, no effort.
When we finally arrived at the window… we were handed was completely wrong: a Quarter Pounder meal with a Dr Pepper and two Hot Honey snack wraps with a Coke. Not even close. At that point, after wasting nearly half an hour of our lives, it wasn’t worth arguing. It was honestly a relief just to leave.
This wasn’t just slow—it was pure incompetence from start to finish. Slow service, wrong order, and staff who clearly didn’t care enough to get even the simplest details right.
I haven’t eaten at McDonald’s in 3–4 years, and this experience reminded me exactly why. It will be a very, very long time before I make the mistake of coming back this location or any other again.

Some of the worst fast food ever had. On top of the worst service, bad attitudes, poor management, etc. Randomly will choose when to serve things or close down with no one to take your order. Even when it’s supposed to be open or serving certain foods at certain times. This is by far one of the worst fast food establishments in PB. And this is a general consensus from most people I know, and so many others post about it regularly on social media. So weird how that many people say that something ALWAYS goes wrong with this McDonald’s?

No staff at registers. Kiosks don’t work properly and all seem to be out of paper.

I’m not sure why i keep expecting anything different. To their credit, despite being ridiculously understaffed, they got my order right.

The ownership should be ashamed of themselves for staffing the store like this. Nothing but greed and the cruelty of creating stress for employees where there doesn’t need to be any. It’s shameful.

Customer service is nonexistent came in family of 4. I stood for 15 minutes waiting for someone to take our order. At least 5 employees walked towards the drive through area looking up front and didn’t even acknowledge the crowd standing in the dining area. We just ended up leaving and going elsewhere for dinner.

Literally ordered online around 3:45am. Waited over thirty minutes to be helped and when I got to the window they preceded to cancel my order and told me I could no longer have the order I’ve been WAITING ON because it was a lunch order and now they’ve moved to breakfast. So rude and such a waste of my time. Why not tell me BEFORE I wait 30+ minutes to let me know you won’t fulfill my order? McDonald’s literally does not care about customer service.

When I arrived I was told to give them a moment and I did and then the lady kept taking order for the other side while I was waiting. She should I have came back to me after the car but continued onto the next in line. The lady at the window was a manager and she was on the phone and didn’t speak a word to me. One sauce packet for a burrito cmon now.
