First, I want to say that not all employees are rude. In fact, the African-American employees I’ve interacted with have generally been polite, helpful, and professional. However, during morning visits, I’ve repeatedly experienced rude behavior and poor customer service from certain other employees. I’m not sure if it’s due to a language barrier or something else, but the tone, attitude, and unnecessary delays at the register have made ordering feel stressful rather than routine.
As an African-American woman, I can’t help but notice that the service feels different at times, and that shouldn’t happen in a professional customer service setting.
Another major concern is the drive-thru. People are allowed to ask for money directly at the drive-thru speaker and at the payment window. Being approached for change before I can even order or pay for my food is very uncomfortable and inappropriate. Customers should be able to complete their transaction without being pressured or distracted.
Lastly, while I understand restrooms may be locked, the bathroom cleanliness has still been an issue on multiple visits.
I’m sharing this feedback because I used to enjoy coming to this location, but the recent experiences have made me hesitant to return. I hope management addresses these concerns so customers can feel comfortable and respected again.
Shoutout to Ray, the morning employee at the McDonald’s on 119th & Western. My girlfriend said it perfectly this morning — he’s genuinely the nicest and most competent employee at this location.
Ray is super smiley, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating. For once, we didn’t feel rushed, ignored, or like we were an inconvenience. Quite the opposite — he made us feel appreciated as customers, which honestly isn’t something we’ve felt here before.
Because of Ray, we actually want to come back more often. One person like him makes a huge difference, and management should take note. This is the kind of energy and customer service that keeps people coming through the door.
