I came to McDonald’s today and despite placing my order, I waited for 20 minutes. As seen in the photos, my order did not arrive in a reasonable amount of time.
When I went inside, I was met by a very rude employee named Melisa. She told me I was lucky and that my order would be ready in about 10 minutes, meaning I would wait a total of 28-29 minutes.
When I finally received my menu, the hamburger was cold. When I asked for a fresh hamburger, I also pointed out that my fries would get cold while waiting and requested that both the hamburger and fries be fresh at the same time. She responded rudely with something like, “I understand, I’m not stupid.”
The service was terrible. There may be a staff shortage, but that is not an excuse for poor service. McDonald’s has certain standards, and the cooking time for a hamburger is fixed. Exceeding these standards is unacceptable.

As seen in the other photos, the entire restaurant was filthy. There was water and grease on the floor, and this could have caused someone to slip and fall. The tables were dirty and the trash cans were so full that garbage was overflowing. There were major hygiene issues. The employees were rude, and the inside of the restaurant was hazardous for customers. Additionally, there were long car queues outside. I was completely dissatisfied with this McDonald’s and would absolutely not recommend it to anyone.

Welcome to the North Charleston McDonald’s. I guess there’s a new marketing strategy — attracting tourists not with the smell of burgers and McNuggets, but with a strong aroma of marijuana coming from the men’s restroom. Apparently the staff thinks this is part of the job. A very unusual impression for a restaurant in a tourist area.

Lord have mercy what a dang on mess. About 20/25 people in here waiting over 30 minutes for food. Drive through upset. Cashiers fussing with customers and the manager say she on break…excuse me! She gotta go! No way y’all losing out on money because it’s rush time and people wanna break and argue. Shameful. I pray nothing more serious break out.

1 star is very generous, absolutely appalling service, attitude is shocking and i didnt get my mcflurry. Appalling. Be quicker ti order ingredients and cook it myself.

Just to add to my review I have been waiting approximately 10:16 seconds for a receipt, absolute madness.

Don’t come here its not worth it.

It’s been a while since I last visited McDonald’s, and my recent experience left me with mixed feelings.

**Positives:**
Firstly, I must commend the quality of the food. My burger was freshly made and delicious, and the fries were hot and crispy, just as I remember them. The counter person was nice and friendly, ensuring my order was accurate and efficiently handled. These aspects of my visit were undeniably pleasant and met my expectations.

**Concerns:**
However, I have some concerns that I feel compelled to share. McDonald’s used to be my go-to place for a meal, a spot where families could gather, enjoy a meal, and let their kids play in the indoor playgrounds. It was a place that fostered a sense of community and connection.

Unfortunately, things seem to have changed. I haven’t been frequenting McDonald’s as much due to changes in the company’s approach. The redesign of restaurants, often excluding the indoor playgrounds, diminishes the family-friendly atmosphere that was once a hallmark of McDonald’s. This shift has, in my opinion, reduced the appeal for families with children.

Moreover, the introduction of kiosks, while convenient for some, seems to have created an unintended consequence. It feels as if the human touch is being phased out, and customers who prefer interacting with staff might find themselves waiting longer at the counter – sometimes up to five minutes – before being attended to.

During my recent visit, despite the great food and friendly service, the empty seats in the dining room reinforced my impression that the location doesn’t particularly encourage in-house dining. It felt as though the restaurant was designed more for efficiency than for creating a welcoming environment for customers to sit and enjoy their meals.

**Conclusion:**
In summary, while I had a positive experience with the food and service at this specific McDonald’s location, the broader changes in the company’s approach have dampened my enthusiasm. The shift away from a family-friendly atmosphere, the emphasis on kiosks, and the apparent disinterest in promoting in-house dining have all contributed to my mixed feelings. I hope McDonald’s can find a balance that retains its traditional charm while embracing modern conveniences.

They never get the order correct. Food is always cold. They never give you the correct change and they don’t know how to do a simple refund. The staff all need to go back to training. The manager is polite but even she can’t do a refund correctly. She hears only what she wants to hear.

Horrible horrible horrible. I’ve ordered from this McDonalds a few times now and each time they continue to get my order wrong. I DoorDashed and order and my fries were missing in the meal. How do you mess up a meal? It makes me really question the type of people they’re hiring and why they’re working at McDonald’s still. This place should honestly be shut down!

Just went through the McDonalds drive thru here during my lunch break. Long, slow line but I can understand that a lunch rush gets busy. I get up to order my food, they have the issue I’ve seen for months, where your order shows up on the opposite screen to the one you are ordering at, so you see the person on the side of you’s order, but now your own. I ask for a 2 cheeseburger meal with PLAIN cheeseburgers (I’m allergic to some of the toppings). I cant verify that he selects plain as I cant even see my order on the screen. I go to pay at the first window. He tries to get me to pay initially for another order in addition to my own, we resolve that quickly, whatever. I notice on my receipt it doesnt say that the cheeseburgers should be plain. I get to the second window. I say “Are these cheeseburgers plain?” The guy at the second window shrugs and says “I dont know” and hands me the bag. Doesnt bother to look one bit, does not care one bit. Lo and behold, all of the toppings are on these burgers. I go back inside as I cannot eat these burgers. It takes another 15 minutes for them to respond and produce 2 plain cheeseburgers. Such a frustrating experience, they really need to train drive thru staff better!!!!!!!!!!

Every burger we ordered we specified no cheese, 2 of the 3 burgers had cheese. When I took them to the counter to get them corrected, one of the woman in the back was having an attitude saying it didn’t say no cheese. The woman who took them from me had to point out that the sticker on the wrappers said no cheese. When I got my burgers back the cheese was gone but now the rest of the burger was wrong. I didn’t even try to get it fixed a second time. The entire time we were in the store the people in the kitchen were so loud we could barely hear each other in the dining room. There was also a lot of loud cussing coming from the kitchen.
Mistakes happen but rather than arguing about responsibility just quickly fix and be done. McDonald’s is a family joint and loud cussing yelling from the kitchen is not appropriate with children in the dining room.
