I ordered the cedar-roasted salmon with sweet potato purée, and it was absolutely phenomenal — perfectly cooked, flavorful, and beautifully plated. The sweet potato purée was creamy, subtly sweet, and paired perfectly with the fish.
Their drinks are just as impressive — the strawberry mint lemonade is a must-try: refreshing, perfectly balanced, and a great non-alcoholic option that still feels special.
Between the exceptional food, thoughtful service, and welcoming atmosphere, McCormick & Schmick’s continues to prove why it’s a go-to in Kansas City for both special occasions and everyday dining. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My girlfriend ordered the swordfish casino, I ordered the wagyu steak frites, and mon Dieu—these were truly life-altering entrées. Her swordfish was cooked so perfectly it practically deserved a standing ovation en solo. My wagyu? It melted in my mouth like it had somewhere better to be. And the steak frites were so magnificent I boxed them up to savor later—un petit trésor for the road.
The evening concluded with the famed dark chocolate bag for two—an indulgence my girlfriend has praised for years, and one that exceeded even her glowing recollections. Though I am not typically drawn to chocolate, mousse, or berries, this dessert was nothing short of revelatory. The chocolate was elegant and nuanced, the mousse impossibly smooth and elevated, and the berries tasted as though they had been chosen individually at the peak of perfection.
Unfortunately, my Pembroke Welsh corgi had her own ideas about how the night should end. The moment I walked through the door, she launched a precise aerial maneuver, knocked the leftover box from my hands, and devoured the contents before I could intervene. On the bright side, she clearly possesses the same appreciation for fine dining as her owner.
Patrick’s professionalism and warmth were the final touches that made the evening exceptional, and the ambiance of the restaurant complemented the experience beautifully.
500,000 stars. I would return tomorrow without hesitation—though the corgi, for everyone’s sake, will remain at home.
