The history of McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurants began when Bill McCormick purchased Jake’s Famous Crawfish Restaurant located in Portland, Oregon, and brought the more than 100-year-old landmark back to life. When asked the secret of how he revitalized a restaurant on the brink of closing, McCormick says, I like nothing better than being a good host. Part of the managerial talent McCormick tapped was Doug Schmick, a management trainee. The two formed a partnership in 1974, creating Traditional Concepts, a precursor to today’s McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurants. In 1979, they opened the original McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant in Portland, Oregon.

This was our lunch choice after our nieces graduation from high school. The atmosphere and ambience was very nice on the inside as well as the outside. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive to our needs. The lunch specials were absolutely amazing. The pesto gnocchi was so tasty. My niece loved the oysters and my hamburger was cooked to perfection. The food is very tasty and everything was cooked correctly, served nice and hot and our water was always filled at the table. Excellent place to come for lunch or dinner.

I never heard of this place before. A friend of mine had his bachelor party here last Saturday. It was a bit of a walk from the blue line but I got there. It’s like about maybe a 15 minute walk south from the blue line if you’re going that way which I did. It’s inside of a Lowe’s hotel or it’s next to a Lowe’s hotel. You know it’s decent food it’s pretty good food. I was in there for maybe not quite an hour but it was good. I thought the people were friendly. And you know I’d go back there probably again it was quick and fast and it wasn’t overly lit in there.

This place is very nice on the inside. All our food was good, especially the salmon and cheesecake. You get a small-ish portion for the price you are paying, but that is expected since this is a fancier restaurant.

For starters it’s important to know that I’m 6’02 and 350 lbs. I went to dinner with a friend. There were two people at the bar and 3 tables occupied on the floor. The hostess seeing my size, thinks it’s a good idea to put us in a booth. After the embarrassment of not fitting we ask for a table. The waitress was polite but inattentive. We asked for salt twice and waited ten minutes. By that point the food is cold. I asked for a side of lemon and the wedge was small and dry. My guest ordered some kind of chocolate dessert in a raspberry sauce. When the server placed the plate down the spoon handle slid across the sauce. Common mistake but the server left so we cleaned it off ourselves. This could have been a 5 star review because the food is delicious but the presentation was less than appealing.

Celebrated an Anniversary and we were treated like VIP’s. Our server was Melinda and she did everything she could to make our experience pleasurable. She made great recommendations and her customer service was top notch that we asked for the manager to be called over. Amanda came over & was delighted to hear positive feedback when most only want to talk to a manager to complain. It was on New Tears eve when the place was bustling. The food was delicious. Pictures don’t do it any justice.

Let me start by saying the friendly hostess set the mood for an excellent restaurant choice!! Joe & Tricia our servers couldn’t have been more friendly & informative! As 1st timers we had many questions and they never skipped a beat on details, ingredients and suggestions. We chose basically half the menu based on their great recommendations! The Berry Berry Mojito was to die for so hats off to Mixologist! The Dessert menu was off the charts! Definitely will visit again
