Let me start by saying I love a small town, and I love supporting black owned businesses. This place quenched my thirst for both. I really enjoyed the vibe of this place. It’s a family business with a husband and wife cooking. They said it gets busier around 1pm-we were there at 11am. I ordered the seafood platter. IT WAS SO MUCH FOOD! You choose the fish you want, which is fresh on the ice, and they fry it up. For $12 I got 2piece whiting with 1 piece flounder,shrimp,fried oysters,hushpuppies, French fries, and Cole slaw. I had enough leftover for dinner. The batter was light and crunchy. The oysters were delicious and I usually don’t like fried oysters. I couldn’t give them 5 stars bc the hushpuppies were too greasy, and they didn’t have a cover over their sweet tea and lemonade.

Food is decent. Fried fish and seafood. Employee not rude, but not really friendly either when we called in orders and went to pick it up. Due to the prices for the portions we recieved, (our portions were nowhere near the portions others have posted pictures of on here), and the employee’s attitude, I had to debate whether to give 2 stars or 3. Decided on three since we only visited once. We haven’t been back though.

The food is good, but the fries always hard and cold. My problem is the customer service. It’s not a friendly environment. No one speak no one talk you just get a hateful look and they need to work on that. I think the place need to be cleaned a little. If I try to call in a order no one answers the phone. But when I get there they taking orders by phone . Overall the food is good but they need BETTER ATTITUDES!!!!

When you step in McColl’s, you already know what it is. So I don’t understand some of the ugly comments I see here. I think if you let them know there is an issue, they will correct it. Warning though, I’d say watch your approach or the response may not go well. Lol. My friend took me there for my birthday on a recommendation. Unknowingly, we overdressed. We have since toned it down and go relaxed and ready to grub now.
We live 45 minutes away. We enjoy it and have been back 3-4 times in the last few months. We enjoy the drive and conversation during the drives.
THE FOOD:
The Food is great. Love the plate, especially the fish, cornbread and great Tea. (Excuse me , but How are they suppose to control spots being small out of season). Go when they are in.
I now know there are other sides so I will check those another time. Good downhome folk. Staff and Customers. We feel comfortable. **Nice town, be careful Police do patrol traffic. I wish them continued sucess. I support Black Businesses.

I really feel like family everyone is so nice and talks about how life is going laughter fills the room and so does the smell of the best seafood you can get. I got the seafood platter the fried oysters where large and fantastic shrimp cooked perfect and the fish just melted in my mouth.I wish I could eat there everyday

Because of COVID, we haven’t been there lately. Saw the Google updates for maps and this restaurant appeared on the list. Food was piping hot, and delicious. I see they are take out only from comments. Comfortable dining area when we went. Would recommend folks giving them a try.

This is a great place to take your family out for a nice meal. I really enjoyed myself. Next time I come back to McColl South Carolina this will be the first place I stopped in town to eat.

Drove an hour on recommendation just to get old fish, rubbery shrimp and cold fries, to very disappointing because I wanted to like it. The staff is nice tho and the place was clean. The fried oysters was all I could manage to eat.

The seafood platter was great for $12 you get 3 pieces of fish of your choice shrimp and scallops the scallops were out of season so we got extra shrimp corn bread patties fries and coleslaw but can substitute for extra fries
