Had dinner with a good friend that was staying at the hotel. It was a Friday night and it was really busy. It took a while for our server to come by and get our drink and food order. I got a beer (one that our waiter recommended) and the Classic Double Smash Burger. Both the beer and burger were good. Would I go out of my way to go here ever again…probably not. Overall just ok.

I ordered the Meat the Press Pizza for $19!!! WOW! What a price for a pizza for one. Now, I will say that it was good, but way overpriced. I have never paid that much for one personal pizza. It was a decent size and the flavor was great. The crust was soft and cooked to a perfect crisp. I went to this restaurant for a work luncheon and was immediately taken by the high class look of the place. The server was very friendly and professional. The menu was easy to read and so were the prices. I do understand that the restaurant is inside the Hilton and in the middle of D.C. but I still can’t get over the price. My co-workers had a club sandwich and two burgers and they said that the food was good but the fries are what really stood out. The average was $20 per dish. So, would I go here again for lunch… No, not if I’m buying. I think my pizza should be at least $15, as for everyone else’s dish they need to be a lot cheaper. Even though the food tasted good the price needs a lot cheaper, specifically for lunch.

It’s pricey but it’s a hotel bar so you know what to expect, service was excellent though. Free refills on sodas. Our server José was super fast with our order. Shoutout to that gentleman, he’s on point.

My first old fashion Maple Bourbon($14) and it was well made. Beef Quesadia ($17) with guacamole, salsa, and sour cream. The quesadia was nicely seasoned with onions and peppers. I did order fries and another quesidia to go for friend. The total cost was $75ish. The atmosphere is relaxing. The seats are very comfortable. There are 3 or more large television playing different games which made my evening. Staff was extremely friendly, professional, helpful and attentive. The manager walked around, checked on customers and had small genuine conversations with everyone. Conveniently located in the Washington Hilton.

Food was good but was very understaffed. My complain & reason for 2 star review is because I paid with credit card and left 20% tip IN CASH, I even wrote CASH on tip line. Then after finally charges came through on my credit card I noticed the also charged the 20% tip to my card! So they put tip on my card without my permission AND I LEFT THE 20% TIP IN CASH!!! So basically I tipped twice! Bill was $50 and I left $11 cash tip, then they charged my card $60 instead of $50 I signed for… this is exactly why I also make sure to hand payment directly to server but they were so busy we just wanted to leave and I figured it was fine, he’d get the cash. Just wrong to charge a tip to card when I left it in cash.
