Today the restaurant was very busy. My delivery order was taking longer than expected. I called and the young lady explained the situation well and never made an exuses. The delivery driver called me as, promised, to let me know the food was on the way. Despite being very busy, our order was perfect and fresh. This place does not let being busy impact quality and customer service. We’ll worth the added time and will for sure be ordering more.

If you’re not a local, you have got to try this place for sure. I’m not sure if the fish plate is the same as the Friday fish plate… because if it is what a surprise, it’s one of the best catfish plates I have ever tasted in a long time. Friendly and professional staff, nice atmosphere and such a clean place. My wife will definitely be coming back to try other plates. Give this place a try. I hope that you won’t be disappointed, we certainly were not. Thank you, ladies. we will be seeing you again for a different plate.

Very disappointed after hotel recommended McCartys Cafe. We walked in for take out, they were busy but not overly so. We only ordered two sandwiches and an order of onion rings and it took close to a half hour. People calling in an order after we placed ours were told 20 minutes and they got theirs before us. Hoping it was going to be worth the wait, we were wrong. Food was very bland, both sandwiches were coated with flour and little else as were the onion rings. Maybe that’s how people in Portales like it, but we did not.

I love this place. Years ago it was a Mac’s steak in the rough. Now it’s locally owned with a lot more on the menu. The steak in a basket is really great. Tender and delicious. I’ve also had the taquito boat and the guacamole and hot sauce really complement them.

They have the smallest taquitos I’ve ever seen, and they charge a whopping $2 per taquito. You’re better off getting them from Taco Box or Pat’s lol, they’re cheaper AND bigger.

As of 08/20, the lobby is closed. Excellent food, the drive through line has a few cars in it, but the staff was incredibly fast. Location has patio seating, although I’m not sure if it is open. Parking lot is open to enjoy food. Price is $$$ but is definitely worth it. Could not recommend more.

We used to love coming to McCarty’s until the past few months. The service has really gone downhill. They loose our orders constantly and we have to ask why it is taking so long for our orders. Came through the drive through today and it took 35 minutes for a single burrito. Had to ask why other cars who ordered after us got their food before us. Staff is rude and hung up on us when we called to inquire about it the second time. If you are looking for breakfast, go somewhere else that will treat you with more respect and can get you your food in a timely manner!!

Good flavor but a rip off. Got the burrito bowl and it came in a small cup. Should be advertised as “Burrito Cup” Not nearly enough for breakfast.
