It’s rare that I light someone or someplace up on social media, but tonight I feel compelled to as this is essentially a public service announcement: the McAlister’s Deli in Mokena (11215 West Lincoln Highway) is a horrible place with a shockingly rude staff. I hope you never go there and subject yourself to the worst customer service imaginable.
I walked in at 5:45 pm and with no one in front of me, ordered three sandwiches. There are five people working. Then 45 minutes go by and nothing. During this time, one customer had to park her car to come in and get her order because she was ignored at the drive thru (four sandwiches tops) and one table of three people were served. That’s it.
Now this location has a reputation for service that is slightly slower than a wounded turtle, but this was bad even for them. Plus I could see the “workers” in the back alternating between doing whatever, chatting, playing on their phones, etc.
I walk up to inquire and things escalate pretty quickly with the worker up front. So HE TELLS ME OFF! He tells me I need to “get with it” and “wipe the smirk off my face”. I’m of course not having any of that, so I ask to talk to the manager.
Out comes the manager. First she stares at me, then starts to reprimand me because “everyone is working on a lot of orders”. Really??? You mean the two orders in 45 minutes?
What a disgrace. I demanded a full refund (which took several long, painful minutes) and eventually got it and walked out with no food after almost an hour. When I asked about the owners of the place, she told me they never come in, turned her back on me, and walked away.
I will NEVER set foot in that place ever again and I hope you don’t either.

Unacceptable service received. Absolutely no greeting. I placed a $20 bill in the hands of the cashier, who returned my change by throwing it on the counter. I was completely taken aback by such rude absorb behavior. The Dr. pepper soda was out, the cashier was frustrated even more he had to replace the filter. 10 minutes later he uses the same dirty cup and gives me my drink. There were piles of dishes lying around. All the staff were too busy playing horsing around, unprofessional, and rude. The manager did not seem friendly or open to discussing issues with. My food was overcooked via microwave. No napkins provided. Terrible location, service, and food. Would not recommend.

While the food was enjoyable as always, the experience was negatively impacted by the behavior of the staff at the ordering desk, this evening. One of the employees was speaking loudly and using inappropriate language, which created a disruptive atmosphere. It felt more like a casual hangout rather than a professional setting, and it made it difficult for my family to enjoy our meal. I hope this can be addressed to ensure a more pleasant dining experience for all guests.

Food is decent usually but thats where it stops. Seems like there is very poor management. Chairs still up on tables at 1 in the afternoon. Signage for Friday specials on a Monday. Soup of the day on the board wasnt available and soup that wasnt on the board was. Paper sign taped to the POS that says “No Salad”, so 33% of their menu isnt even available. Girl at the counter doesnt say hi, doesnt say bye, doesnt say thank you. Actually says as few words as possible. Overall just seems like nobody here cares.

It seems okay. I stopped by on Thursday and ordered one of their half and half comboe’s to go. There was 2 people working front, but it seemed only 1 of them was actually working. he didn’t seem to listen when asked anything and was too quiet, had to ask him to speak up. Everyone else seems very hard-working, and I appreciate their effort. but either way food was very good and made just the way i asked, and when it was given to me, i was even asked to make sure i got my drink already. i would definitely come back! once again thank you to everyone who treated me and my time with respect.

Ordered delivery from their site for a family game night. Less than half the order actually showed up. When we called they told us they realised they had our food still and we could come pick up the rest, despite paying delivery fee and tip. We had been having a few drinks so asked for a refund instead. They said they werent able to do that or send someone else to deliver it. We have to call to speak to a manager at a later date to figure it all out. They kept the food and they kept all the money.

Food was decent but not amazing. The serrvice was rather slow (it took about 45 minutes to get our food) and the hostess was a bit rude. They really seemed to prioritize the drive through and ignored any customers coming inside. Honestly probably won’t be returning again. Don’t recommend going unless you don’t have anything else going on that day.

We arrived at 1118. Looked at the menu. Order taken at 1124. They open at 1030. The soup I ordered they were out of. So changed to redbeads n rice, with salad. Its all young kids all talking . No coffee made, my soup was not even warm. We were the only customers in the place. And they want tips? Ridiculous.

This store is a mess you are lucky if you get all your food. Even luckier if it’s made right last order I had included a rueban it had no sauerkraut or dressing. Terrible This is the third time I have had issue here You won’t see me their again good luck going there. I suggest you order twice as much then maybe you’ll get lucky

Finally stopped in to try the spuds however, it was a 40 minute wait so we will have to try them next time around. We ordered the ham and cheese melt which was good. The ham used has a very sweet taste to it. The French dip was my least favorite because the beef had too much fat for my preference but my husband didn’t mind it. The chicken dumpling and cheddar broccoli soups were good, just wish the temperature was hotter. Mac and cheese is rich and creamy. The jalapeño turkey crunch sandwich ended up being my favorite along with the potato salad. I will definitely order that again. As far as price range goes for our family of three we spent a little over $50 for 3 sandwiches 3 drinks and 2 cups of soup.
