Dropped by McAlister’s Deli in DeKalb and tried the Spicy Southwest Chicken Sandwich with a side of Chicken Tortilla Soup. Honestly? Solid combo. The sandwich had a nice little kick—spicy but not aggressive—with juicy grilled chicken and that smoky chipotle mayo that sneaks up on you in the best way. The bread was toasted just right, so every bite had a little crunch.
The soup was kind of the perfect sidekick—warm, flavorful, and loaded with shredded chicken and tortilla strips. It’s the kind of thing that makes you pause mid-bite and go, “Yep, this was a good call.”
The place itself was chill. Quick service, clean tables, no fuss. I didn’t go for the sweet tea this time, but I saw enough people sipping it like it was liquid gold, so I’m guessing it’s worth a try next round.

Excellent customer service and the food was great! We got the French dip sandwich which could use a little more seasoning or some type of sauce to kick it up a little and the southwest chicken sandwich. Both came with potato salad and a pickle. The iced tea was great as well. Give them a try you’ll be glad you did!

The area is very clean. The service is excellent. I had the turkey sandwich and I was thinking it would be nice to have some sauce on it. Maybe some kind of a mayo mustard or something. It kind of just felt like I was eating a sandwich without any any kind of flavoring. I did not like the macaroni and cheese, it just seemed very bland. I’d give it a 4.4.

We had a wonderful lunch today before they officially open on Monday! The service was so wonderful – while my husband and I ordered our meal the lady next to the cashier took the time to talk to my son all about Pokemon while we were able to look & they just were so thoughtful. The food was perfect!!! I love the jalapeno turkey crunch sandwich & my husband loves the Italian. The soup is to die for! The caramel apple cookie – is straight HEAVEN baby!!!!

We ordered from McAlisters Deli and picked it up, we ordered a kids meal. We got Mac and cheese with a toasted turkey and cheese sandwich. The quality of food was awesome. I tasted the Mac and cheese and it was very good. We’ll definitely be back, this is absolutely a better choice than most of the fast food restaurants we have as options.

It is a deli. Food is very good, no skimping on portions, the staff seems to be mostly college kids but they are well trained. Good vegetarian options. It was very enjoyable and we will go back. Men’s room was very clean.

Ordering over the counter is easier for me than on-line using the app. Staff is very helpful and friendly. The food is always fresh. Menu updates are worth asking about.

My wife and I have been to this location 3 times. This place is wonderful and we’ve been waiting for this location for a while but worth the wait in our recent experience the staff was very friendly and helpful. My wife and I got dinner there recently and it was absolutely delicious the food was very flavorful they don’t skimp out on quality or portion sizes. McAlister’s is the best deli place I’ve been to by far way better than Panera and they don’t give you much portion sizes, McAlister’s is a different story their portions are much bigger than Panera and that place charges a lot for less portion sizes. My wife got a Memphian sandwich with a side of potato salad and I got a pick 2 New Yorker on a baguette instead of rye bread I have nothing against rye bread but wanted to try the sandwich on something different with the sandwich I got a bowl of Chicken Tortilla Soup with Tortilla Chips and a side of Cajun Red Beans
and Rice(with some chunks of meat in the Cajun red beans and rice) along with the meal I got a sugar plum iced tea to share with my wife. Everything was great and will definitely be returning to this location again!
