Today was our first time at McAlister Deli. The sandwiches and soup were okay. Spouse had the Chicken Tortillia soup and said it was fair. The staff was very friendly and greeted us at the door on arrival. Facility was clean and in good order. Men’s restroom was clean, spouse said Women’s restroom was not clean.

My husband had a giant smoke house potato. He really enjoyed it.
I had a roasted chicken club. I love the mustard it reminded me of a deviled egg mustard mayonnaise dressing. It was very tasty with a side of ceaser salad
Large drinks that will come around and refill for free.
The young man that waited on us at the counter was very friendly and personable.
It’s a nice quiet atmosphere with plenty of comfortable seating.
This was my first trip in and I can’t wait to try something new the next time.

I just had lunch with my grandson at the west Des Moines location and the food was good but the service was great. James was very helpful with refills and to go boxes. And Iwish I would have left a bigger tip. James is doing a very good job for you making your customers feel welcome.

First timer. The gal at the register could have cared less but I don’t blame her. It’s a crazy world. It was our first time so it would have been helpful to explain things a little more. She expected me to know to pick out a bag of chips, but I didn’t. I was also having vision issues that moment so maybe it was clearly listed somewhere? I’m not sure. It’s only a single restroom – 1 per gender. There was a line waiting multiple times when we were there for a later lunch. The space seemed nice. Just felt a little lost when we walked in not knowing what to do.

Was here about 730pm on 8/29. The staff are always amazing but tonight someone stood out. I didn’t catch his name but had longer dark hair. His customer service was top notch. He was refilling drinks, told one table that If he wasn’t back to check on them before they left to just leave everything. He would take care of it. He was consistently rounding in the dining area checking on guests. First time I have experienced that!
All of the staff tonight were pleasant and friendly but this gentlemen deserves recognition!

This place has some pretty awesome looking sandwiches and spuds on their menu. However, I would say our experience was that they were just ok from a taste and look perspective when we got them. The staff was somewhat friendly but the cleanliness of the dining area and bathrooms needed some attention. Probably will try a different location if we try this franchise again.

Food is INSANELY overpriced. My like $17 French dip had maybe 3oz of meat on it and it wasn’t even good meat. My daughter’s sandwich was even more disappointing. Clearly this is a destination for people to gather and act important but 40+ dollars for a couple sandwiches and drinks is absurd
