The server even came to me and asked if I was ok. I would surely recommend this place and go again!
Now let’s talk sweets—the brookie is dangerous in the best way. It’s my guilty pleasure, even though I try to pace myself. And I can’t forget the sweet tea—it’s consistently delicious, even though I always ask for no ice and somehow still get ice every time (we’re working on it, McAlister’s).
They’ve got a full sandwich menu, and honestly, it’s worth exploring. I give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars. Sometimes the consistency can be hit or miss—like bread not toasted or missing extras I requested—but overall, it’s a great spot. Shout out to the McAlister’s team for keeping those sandwiches coming!
When I walked in, the worker immediately asked if we had a pickup order. We said no and ordered at the counter. I was never asked for my name, yet when I looked at the receipt, a random Hispanic name was listed. It felt like a blatant assumption based on my appearance — and a clear example of racial profiling. That same worker was the one who took our order.
Our food came out wrong and was placed in to-go containers inside a bag, even though we were dining in. One salad was missing the chicken entirely, and the other had brown, spoiled avocado. The attention to detail and quality was completely lacking.
As we were cleaning up and getting ready to leave, I asked that same worker where I could throw away our trash. His response? “Take it out to the dumpster.” I was in complete shock. I have never been told to take out my own trash to a dumpster at any restaurant. It felt intentionally dismissive and disrespectful — especially following the earlier experience.
This visit left a lasting negative impression. Between the poor service, lack of care with our food, and the racial profiling, this was one of the most unwelcoming and inappropriate experiences I’ve ever had in a restaurant. McAlister’s needs to seriously address how customers are being treated at this location.
