We were so excited to see a McAlister’s in Newport News! Food was outstanding, as always. The service was top notch. We ate in the restaurant and the service was amazing. The gal was super sweet to my kids and was actively filling our drinks. Highly recommend this location to anyone! The Tea was also perfect! The picture shows all that was left from my picky teenage daughter’s plate. Needless to say, the whole family loved it!

Staff very welcoming. Nice place to eat in, which we did, or take out. Large dining room or nice large covered outdoor patio to eat out front. Menu was huge. So much to choose from. We each had the bowl of chicken tortilla soup with tortilla chips. So delicious!!! Then I had the huge baked potato with vegetables and cheese sauce. Plus had to get their side of potato salad. So good!! My husband got the huge loaded cheese baked potato with sour cream. He also had the huge plate of loaded nachos. We both said it’s the best of any restaurant in this area!! They give you huge portions. We both took our huge loaded baked potatoes home. My husband enjoyed his large peach mango iced tea. He said it’s very good. We both said this place is a keeper to eat. We will be back again and again. Thank you!!

I had the NewYorker with the mustard on the side (not a big mustard guy). Great sandwich! Pastrami is easy to get wrong but they nailed it. Best Deli in area hands down.

I hallways have a great experience at the McAlister’s Deli in Hampton! The restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly, and the service was quick even during the busy rush. My order came out fresh, exactly as requested, and everything tasted amazing. The lemonade was perfect as always, and the portions were generous for the price. I do recommend!

The food was ok. I felt HORRIBLE for the lady behind the counter. She was literally doing EVERYTHING by herself at the front of the house. Ringing people up, running food out from the back, cleaning off tables, mopping floors from a spill, etc. it took 26 minutes for our food to come out. It looked like there was 2-3 people cooking in the back. The manager or owner guy came in mid way through. Got his own lunch and left. I really felt bad for the one employee up front handling everything. -my husband orders a turkey blt club and it came out with two pieces of bread like a regular sandwich. Because it took us so long just to get food he didn’t dare say anything. He just ate it. I will say for just three problem to eat we paid $47. I know things are expensive now but given all, very slow to come out food and his sandwich fairly blah, knowing we paid nearly $50, it’s likely we won’t be hurrying back. We go to this restaurant in Fairfax and we have had a wonderful experience at that store everytime. Not the same experience at this Hampton location.

Ordered the chicken salad sandwich and potato salad. It was promptly delivered. The sandwich was good. It is served on a croissant. I feel it was put together poorly. It seems like the chicken salad was just smashed under the greens. I was hoping for a bit more for a $12 sandwich but it did come with a side. The potato salad was really yummy and creamy. I’d eat here again.

This place was mid at best. The sandwich was just fine, the chili I got was ridiculous. My wife got the Mac and cheese with her meal and the best way I could describe it was the same quality as chef boyardee.
Definitely not worth the $50 we spent on the meal here. The atmosphere was ok and the service was pretty good, but I was underwhelmed by the food, I wouldn’t reccomend this place at all.
