Maxine’s (Max’s Garage) in Muskogee is an okay spot to hang out with friends, but the food felt overpriced for the quality. My $12.99 two-piece chicken strip meal was average, and the $9.99 cheese curds mostly tasted like old grease and salt. Drinks were fine, but for around $30 total I expected a little better. Good for socializing, but I’d probably choose somewhere else if I was going just for the food.

Come and check this place out the food absolutely delicious and their customer service great. Prices are affordable and live music on certain days of the week. Outstanding experience.

The best part of this whole meal was the tater tots. The “queso” was watered down generic velveeta and flavorless ro tel. The hamburger patty I was given with the Okie Special was bland and tasted like it was cooked yesterday. Had onions, mushrooms and cheese thrown on top and microwaved. The Mac and cheese was clearly old and tossed in a microwave. I wouldn’t suggest the food at this place to anyone. Will not be back.

Hadn’t been to Max’s in forever. $13 for a “cosmic martini” titos, cranberry, and lime. I had to order a shot of titos on the side because we dont think any was put into mine. My friend got the Mexican fruit roll up, and it was a normal sized drink. And really good! We got the queso and salsa. Which is just jarred salsa and basically Velveeta. I wish companies would start specifying if its actually queso vs Velveeta cheese dip. Its too expensive for the quality. And $13 for a drink w three drinks is ridiculous. Their outdoor area is nice, though. They have the waterfall again.

Not from the area so I selected this restaurant based on the menu online. Once there, we were told multiple items still listed on the menu have been dropped, including the entire kids menu and most dessert options. After we adjusted our order to the availability, my hamburger meat tasted old plus had colby jack and onion when I had ordered mushrooms and Swiss. Had to ask the (friendly) waitress for basic items that should have been offered or provided automatically. While waiting for our food the next table over had similar issues with their meal. Neither of us were offered a replacement or even an explanation.

My husband and I went there for the first time tonight and we really enjoyed it. We actually would give them a
4 1/2 and not a 4, but we can’t mark that on the above stars ⭐️ so we’ll just type it here. We had their fried mushrooms and really enjoyed them, we’d give them a four. He had the Big Max which was a hamburger patty with a hot link, bacon , and cheese served on Brioche Bread with housemade Jack Daniel’s BBQ sauce. He said he would give it a 4 1/2 and the food combination tasted really good together. We both ate their French Fries and would give them a five (5.). They lad a light crisp crunch to them and they were very good. I had an Old Fashioned Hamburger served on Brioche Bread and I’d give it a strong four (4.). It was definitely filling too!
Also, they had the restaurant decorated up for Christmas and it was BEAUTIFUL! I have some pictures I’ll share, but it’s even prettier in person.
I’m so glad we went and we’d go there again. It was definitely a nice surprise.

I asked for a margarita the owner ended up making it for me and it tasted awful. I went back up to the bar and ask for something else to be made or a margarita that’s going to taste good. I’m one of the actual bartenders had to make me a margarita. I ordered a chopped steak and it came out with the bacon burnt. Took a while to get some service and food. I don’t recommend this place

I did not eat here but got a Blue Christmas cocktail. They had very beautiful decorations and I wish I could’ve stayed longer. I had The Boars Head Feaste at The Castle of Muskogee to get to! Definitely will come back in the future!

The atmosphere at Max’s is fun. Our server was still learning the ropes, but very sweet and tried hard to make sure everything was correct for us after a few hiccups.
The food, for the price, was ok. Nothing was bad, but nothing was spectacular either. The steak (ribeye) was cooked correctly but was pretty bland.
Our bill totaled almost $100 and still had to pay a 3% fee to pay with a card.

The service and food were fantastic. We loved the location and atmosphere and will definitely be going back again.
