I live on the west side of the state. I’ve had quite a few different donuts between here and there. By far, for this side of the state, these are THE BEST donuts! The staff is always super friendly and helpful. The service is VERY fast! I’ve come here twice and picked up two dozen. Im usually in and out within 5 minutes. Max’s has a huge selection (its overwhelming, in a good way). Sometimes it’s a bit crowded inside with the old guys drinking coffee and sharing conversation. But that is a good sign, it’s a cozy welcoming place.

Yes, the best Donuts in Michigan. I’m here visiting from Florida and my husband used to live in Lapeer. He requested that I bring him back fritters from Max’s Donuts. I got a dozen mixed Donuts for $11 and wow was he right. These are way better than that chain Donuut place. So delicious. Be sure to get there early. When they run out for the day they close.

Max’s Donuts in Lapeer has been doing business for fifty (50) years and are a local town favourite. The inside of the bakery isn’t anything special, but people/friends come to sit outside, chat and eat tasty donuts. Who can be unhappy eating a donut? We tried the Apple fritters…yummy.. and we will be back for more. If you’re in Lapeer, you’ll have to check out Max’s Donuts
