First time here, Pretty busy weekend spot. About 20 min wait for 3 ppl, not too bad. Once ordered, took about 30 min to let us know the meatloaf was not available anymore so was kind of annoyed it took that long. Then another 20 min to get food. Food was good. Fried green beans my fave part.

The food was good, the service was ok. I asked for hot sauce and a knife to cut the pancakes/French toast. She brought a plastic knife that didn’t work and salsa… not hot sauce. There was also a long hair on my French toast. Overall, it’s a basic breakfast place with decent prices.

If you’re ever up for a road trip, I recommend Bastrop, Tx for some great food and small town fun. Maxine’s is a great choice with very delicious meatloaf and a super tasty patty melt. Fried green tomatoes seems to be what Maxine’s is most famous for. Anyway, can’t wait to go back and try other menu selections.

We arrived around 11am on a Sunday. Our wait was about 20-30 minutes, which was fine with us since we specifically chose this restaurant as we were passing through. We shared a big table with another couple so we could all fit. I thought that was pretty neat.

Breakfast was good. We have been here few times for breakfast (both times it took a while to get the food finally). I can’t say the food is special but the atmosphere is nice. Also, the coffee machine was broken and they couldn’t make cappuccino.

No one at our table had any complaints. Food was absolutely delicious. Service was great. Make sure you’re hungry because the portions are huge.

Our first time trying here and it was good! There was nothing to complain about, the wait was pretty long though so make sure you’re ready for it if you’re hungry!

Rip off – we got charged a 20% up charge for two tortillas – yikes, that is a bit harsh.

Impressive country breakfast with pancakes that are three meals worth of food. Good migas with lots of flavor. Quaint old time cafe with patio seating in downtown. Good, friendly servers. Really enjoyed it!

Price. Wow, really expensive for just regular American food. Service was great and atmosphere was fine but really just to high for a return for us.
