Had the opportunty to stop in at the hidden Max-Boyd-s Hideout in Antioch recently, interesting place, decor and experience.
Located in Antioch, but off the beaten path, literally. a few blocks off of Grass Lake Road is the Hideout, not far away from any of the Chain of Lakes.
Weathered and worn, like a old leather jacket, if you are looking for an old school tavern style place, you should stop in.
Bring cash only, or use their ATM, indulge in their beer or drink selection while seated at the bar, table or play a Slot machine.
I enjoyed the grilled chicken sandwich-fries or chips, which was delicious and flavorful.
I see they have ribs, burgers, fish frys and prime rib selections as well available.
The prohibition, Al Capone theme is a nice touch as well. Test your sense of adventure and stop in.

Fish fry was the best I’ve had in a while!
VERY VERY BUSY!! Staff was great but service was kinda slow due to the amount of customers. Our experience was positive and we will go back. We will try to get there early next time! Things are tough all over but I thought they did a great job.

Have wanted to try this place for a while. I have the Salmon and Shrimp it was cooked very well. My wife had the steak and it was fantastic. It looks small on the outside but very roomy. We will be back.

Good food from a hidden gem. Fishfry and potato pancakes was good. Wife had the pattymelt and she loved it. Friendly place. Looking forward to trying their weekend breakfasts and Mexican food on Tuesdays

Drinks are GOOD, food is AMAZING! Went on a Wed and had the meatloaf special and full slab of ribs. Meatloaf tasted just like moms, and the ribs… OH MY GOD the ribs!! Tender, fall off the bone, perfect amount of sauce. We will be back to this establishment to try more dinners, and will even be by to try out the breakfast. If it’s anything like the dinner, we won’t be mad at it. Definitely a hidden gem.

This bar is great. Very welcoming atmosphere, and Lisa makes a nice cocktail.
But the food, oh the food…it is to die for.
Taco Tuesdays are my favourite. The best, no joke. Israel the cook rocks the kitchen. His salsas are so fresh and flavorful with a lot of bite. On St. Pat’s Day, their corned beef and cabbage tasted so good.
There are still things on the menu I haven’t tried, but I’m sure they are just as good.
Don’t take my word for it, go. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Great fish fry but get there early if you like potato pancakes. I got the homemade chips in lieu of and they were delicious! Very nice portions as well. Staff and the owner were super nice. Will definitely be back!!
