I ordered Cajun Chicken and Shrimp…lacks sauce, green onion, tomato, and NO SHRIMP…it is not like the picture at all. I can’t do fried food for dietary reasons, but husband had a taste for Lake Trout…I thought I had an option. Wish I could share the picture of what I ordered vs what I got…especially for $21.00. I had to doctor it when I got home…which defeats the purpose of ordering takeout.

First time here. I hadnt eaten all day. Wasnt close to home and chose this place randomly from food choices nearby at the moment on google maps. Got a 6 peice chicken wing combo AND the Mac And Cheese with chicken i saw on the menu. You can tell i was hungry!!
The mac and cheese itself felt very generic, like every other place. Wouldnt call it great, but it was alright. HOWEVER, The peices of chicken that was included with it, all chopped up, was amazing! So it made up for it.
The wings in the chicken box were great! Good size, crispy but not overwhelming, and whatever seasoning they used were great. The fries were good too.
The place itself is small (you can’t sit in there to eat), but the chicken is definitely worth trying for yourself.

We were trying this place out because we were checking out local places to find a good one to cater a small upcoming gathering. We ordered 8 fried chicken wings and 2 pieces of lake trout. Neither was fresh. The chicken was dark at the bone, dry, had a rank taste, and seemed like extra seasoning/salt was applied before cooking to ATTEMPT to disguise the old taste. The fish was dry and unfresh, and from reading another review, it was very likely whiting rather than lake trout. The wait, after ordering online, was about 30 minutes, 10 minutes more than indicated after order was placed. Well, $36 including tax and tip, was wasted, and we know that we won’t be ordering from here again. Looks like the reviews from a few years ago were much better, evidently there was a change in ownership since then. They need to get on the ball… or not. We cannot, in good faith, recommend Mawa Chik’n Box as a good place to get chicken wings or lake trout, at least. A couple of good things were that the gentleman at the counter was very courteous, and the decor was cozy.

So, tried this for the first time. Never again. We ordered the chicken tenders and fries.
The chicken was dry, tiny “chicken nugget-sized pieces for tenders, one “chicken nugget” tender was just breading. They included scraggly “junk” pieces like they just grabbed a handful without pulling out the bad pieces.
Fries – basic fries, NOT like the ones in the picture.
Plus: you got a lot of them so kids were happy.
Plus: counter person gave us extra Southwest fries. Thank you!
For a place that has chicken as their name, they need to do it better. You can see that their chicken nuggets are even the frozen processed chicken and not actual real pieces of chicken. If you’re going to have chicken-nugget sized TENDERS, maybe you need to use those as your actual nuggets.
They really need to remove Chicken from their name – Wendy’s has better chicken.

I was pleasantly surprised by Mawa Chik’n! I found it through a quick search, and I’m glad I did. My food was cooked fresh—not sitting under a heat lamp—and the crispy wedges came out just as I’d requested. Everything was neatly presented, and the wings and wedges were seasoned well. The staff were nice; it felt like three generations working together.

I Ordered a lake trout with Western fries. Upon receiving my order I noticed I had been given Whiting. I confronted the men behind the counter they told my they only sell it on Monday. I feel like you should let a customer know that before accepting there money. Also I’ve ordered it before on a non Monday and they have a special advertisement for a Friday special. I don’t plan on returning, due to lack of integrity.
