I thought it was pulled pork at first first let me back up. I ordered a half a pound of beef brisket and this is what it looked like, they gave me the scraps from the bottom of the pot. The taste was good, but some of the pieces was dry. I thought brisket came in sliced pieces and not look like pulled pork. Very disappointed I couldn’t eat all of it. The pieces were too dry.

I’m at Maurice’s bbq me and wife knowing they closed at 9 I wanted something different but always satisfaction. People very friendly smiled and even asked if we were dining in oppose to telling us we close in 20 mins. Thanks guys for making our day it was long and stressful. Awesome way to help me end my day.!

Have not been to this location for a while but was pleasantly surprised with the overall experience. First, I really like the paint job on the exterior which makes it look much more contemporary, given new competition in the area. Second, the service inside was great and the food (which was a complex order) was brought out fast. Third, the BBQ was really good. We will definitely be coming more often.

Waited over a half hour before going up to the counter to check on it. It was apparently lost, not that anyone cared. I eventually got offered a refund, though I said I’d prefer to get fed. More dithering and prioritizing other customers, but I did eventually get food (only took a few minutes to assemble, so really there was no excuse for the delay.) I observed the couple at the table beside us were equally delayed so it must have been bunch of lost order tickets. I’m not sure how it contributed to the delay, but there was obvious bad feelings between a couple of staff: the guy in charge and the lady talking to me. Like they were more interested in back biting each other than trying to make things right with the customers. No apologies and certainly no offers for discount or any interest in keeping me as a customer.

Meanwhile, the food was great one we got fed. Just wish I could take back the 25% tip I put on my credit card (beware pay and tip at the counter.)

Visited friends for NYE, ate here on my way out of town.

Was greeted by an energetic fellow.
Was gonna buy a plate with 2 sides and add another side, the cashier talked me into a 3 side plate to save me money (my local place doesn’t have a 3 side plate ‍♂️).

I got the pulled pork, Baked Mac, Brisket Beans & Slaw.

Pulled Pork had a good smoky flavor, but a yellow color, which was weird.
I got 3 BBQ sauces from their Sauce Bar, their Mustard Sauce which was okay, Red Sauce it was thick and tangy with a hint of sweet, and a vinegar based sauce which was my favorite.

The sides were great too, the Mac was nice and cheesy with a good crust, the baked beans were slightly sweet and smoky. I had asked if the cole slaw was sweet, cashier said it was, but it was more vinegary than I figured it would be, but was good.

All in all, a tasty treat on my way back to GA.

[EDIT] went back for another visit. Pulled pork was just as good, as was the Mac & Cheese. But I tried the “Carolina Hash & Rice”, was very similar to Brunswick Stew, but didn’t have veggies. Was not bad, but would’ve been better with corn, tomatoes and potatoes .
But I tried a different sauce this time; the Hot Pepper Vinegar sauce. It reminded me of a sauce from my childhood and flooded me with memories; it was very spicy and even tastier.

I love this place and will visit everytime I am in town. The restaurant is always clean – as are the bathrooms! A few things about the food here, it should be notated that the bbq sandwiches almost all come with the “Carolina gold” sauce on them, which I am not a huge fan of. The meat has a good flavor but the sauce just ruins it for me. I’m not sure if you can order it without but it might be possible I just didn’t ask. The okra is fantastic and the sweet tea could give you diabetes. Yum!

I’m going to say that the burgers are my most favorite menu item. Hand-pattied and grilled! My only issue was I would’ve rather had the burger cooked medium instead of well done. I ordered the pimento burger and it was absolutely amazing!

Great restaurant that never disappoints. This is one of our favorite restaurants and we always go there when in the area. As always, the food was excellent. The BBQ is the best. Everything is delicious but would highly recommend the macaroni & cheese and the hash over rice.

BEWARE! Sharing my experience at this location. The turkey sandwich and milkshake were both good; however, this was overshadowed by the staff adding a tip to my credit card transaction after I left the drive thru. Everyone beware they will write in a tip and steal your money hoping you don’t check your statement! Also, the mac&cheese and hash were both terrible.

Really nice folks. However paid $40 for two pounds of pulled pork and it was awful. Smelled terrible and was generally gross.
