Maureen’s was a nice coffee shop in the heart of Bethany Beach. The atmosphere was cozy with some plants to liven it up and a bar to eat at. They host coffee and ice cream, brilliantly using space for morning and later day treats. The latte didn’t have an overpowering coffee flavor, but it was good. Service was good but I didn’t witness anything exceptional. Lots of lifeguards were getting their coffee on the go which is always good to witness lots of local visitors. I liked it, I would return but seats are very limited. I understand space is a premium in town.

Located by the boardwalk of Bethany Beach, DE. Metered parking in the area – by CC or cash.
The place is clean, with just a couple of small tables inside. Has 2 areas, cafe fare in the front, ice cream station in the back.
Generous servings of ice cream – $6.50 for a small, which wasn’t small at all. Enjoyed it on that warm day after coming from the beach.

Went in specifically for coffee but they were all out of coffee. Then it took all the teenage girls about 10 mins to brew a new batch of coffee as they all laughed and did other things instead of making the coffee. Then after the coffee was ready, come to find out there was no creamer or milk or anything. They were all out of that too! So for a coffee place they didn’t even have what they were selling. Oh, and it doesn’t taste that great to top it off. Do not recommend.

Went here for regular plain hot coffees on the afternoon of 10/3/25. Upon entering, the sole employee was in the sitting area talking to someone who appeared to be a friend. Ordered a large and a small but was charged for 2 larges ($9). Employee took the money, placed two cups on the counter and quickly ran back to her friend to continue their conversation. At the self serve station we discovered the creamer was empty. Returned to the counter and waited to be helped. Employee was not attentive so I had to go to the sitting area to interrupt the conversation to request creamer. She stated that there was no way it was empty and I had to show it to her to prove it. She provided creamer and immediately returned back to her friend. We poured our coffee and left location only to discover coffee was room temperature at best and was apparently hours old. Have been visiting this establishment for 20 years but will not be returning due to poor service and poor quality.

I tried ice cream from Maureen’s because I heard from other customers with food allergies that they go above and beyond to prevent cross-contamination. When I ordered a scoop and told the staff member that I had egg and sesame allergies, she 1) allowed me to check the ingredients list on the side of the ice cream tub 2) thoroughly washed the metal scooper to prevent cross-contamination and 3) grabbed a BRAND NEW tub of that flavor from the freezer in the back to ensure that it had never been scooped before by a contaminated scooper. I have lived with food allergies for years, and I have never had a restaurant take this level of precautions on my behalf. Thank you, Maureen’s, for making my day! Your allergen protocols mean more than you know to customers like me. Enjoying a scoop of ice cream on the boardwalk with peace of mind is priceless.

Location:
-Super cute decor and vibe off the boardwalk

Service:
– great, we had to wait on a long line, but it moved along. The young lady who served us got our orders plus then went to the front and served us our tea and espresso drinks despite the long line.

Food & Drinks:
– ice cream was delicious, we went back 2x this week on our vacation. We had at least 8-12 different flavors amongst the family members. There was a large variety including dairy-free options which was nice since my son needs that and it can be hard to find.
– while, the ice cream was great, I really wished they wore gloves while serving/scooping.
– also, the drinks from the cafe were just ok. Not bad, but def not great. It was late at night when they were really focused on their ice cream business so not sure if it was a fluke, but that’s the reason they didn’t get a 5.

Well, Maureen will be pleased that her ice cream business is well taken care of – the young ladies who took over ( Brooke and ?) are as delightful as there ice cream. Came from Philly and was told it was a must visit- the rave reviews were spot on. Friendly, good customer service and the product best around. Glad to give a five star.
