First time for our family at this Luau and we loved everything about it. Our kids (17yrs & 12yrs) came out of the show remembering the mountains that were mentioned. Beautiful story of love being weaved through the dances & songs. The food was amazing! You wont be disappointed.

It’s a little drive out if you are not staying there at the resort. Staff is very accommodating and friendly. The entertainment and buffet very good. We enjoyed it very much. Would highly recommend.

The Hale Hoaloha Lū’au at the Mauna Lani exceeded my expectations. The event was conveniently held on a lawn within close proximity to the hotel. The food was considerably better than I had anticipated—the seafood options (poké, sashimi, cocktail shrimp), in particular, were of excellent quality and flavor. The meal is served buffet-style with several dozen selections available. The event was mostly self-service, but there were numerous staff that helped to direct traffic, bus tables and cater to guests. The entertainment was enjoyable, if slightly cheesy. There was hula dancing, fire-juggling and music. The weather cooperated beautifully with clear skies and a robust breeze to keep things cool. Highly recommend!

For reference my Husband and I paid for the upgraded Ali’i experience. Upon arrival we were greated with cocktails and beautiful white shell leis. We were pretty excited to have these as they are a great keepsake which will last. The package came with a lovely photo souvenir which was taken right as we arrived. Perfect timing as we were still fresh from getting ready.
After photos were were taken to our table. With the Ali’i package we had a lovely private table in the front row, and we had a private server who kept bringing us whatever drink we requested all night. There was also a plate of appetizers on the table which we could snack on. I recommend getting there early as there are some traditional activities to experience. These were all fun and only at the beginning.
Once everyone arrived the MC kicked off the evening with the pig coming out of the ground. The Buffet then is opened. The staff set up 2 buffet tables and you can get food from both sides so the lines move fast. There was a variety of delicious food, everything was very tasty. After every one had their food the performance started.
The dancers were amazing. They were so beautiful in all of the performances. They showcased dances from a variety of areas and the highlight of the show was the fire dancing. The performances were broken up with interactive portions and audience participation so it os great fun for the whole family.
Overall I would highly recommend this show.

Aloha! This was an amazing luau!! The MC was a great storyteller and singer. The performers were so graceful and fluid, delivering captivating performances with beautiful Hawaiian attire. The Fire performing Chief was last and he did an amazing job!! I like the way the food was served on the gorgeous lawn, it felt so open and authentic. Everything I tasted was fantastic. Fish, pork beef with many sides. Pre luau festivities are a lovely touch and one reason I chose this luau, wish they were a little longer, really enjoyed the emu ceremony. The service was very good at the beginning of the night but tapered down after show began. This is one of the top luaus I’ve been to, I highly recommend!! The valet parking is super easy and I recommend this also. You can take a quick look around the stunning hotel, I recommend this also!!!

The Luau at the Mauna Lani Hotel is first class! James and the welcome team couldn’t have been more friendly and gracious. Mahalo, James! The food was onolicious! And the show was very special. A true Ohana experience, as many of the performers were literal family members. The musicianship, the singing and the dancing were all great. We especially enjoyed how the performers engaged the crowd in the show. We have enjoyed other Luau experiences but this one is the best we have ever attended!

Friday: Good historical entertaining Luau. However it was a bit subdued compared to the party going on next door at the Fairmont Hotel Luau on Saturday. The food is why this is only a 3 star review – the all day ground cooked pig was really good. The chicken came in second but the fish, flank steak and appetizers were not so good. Either too bland or just missed the recipes…Some of this could be the food prep and time it takes to make it to the table. The complimentary wine with the meal was sub par. The welcome mai tai was also sub par. Maybe it just comes down to not enough staff to prepare everything as fresh as possible. I asked and it seems the Luau is only 7mo only but I would assume that’s enough time to work out these quality issues.

The entertainment was wonderful! The music, dancers and storyteller were perfect! The venue was lovely, but was sad it wasn’t near the beach with a view of the ocean as Luau’s we have done previously were. Was also sad to not have the option of a real flower lei, although the shell one we got was very pretty and a great momento. Raw bar was delicious and really appreciated all the gluten free options. Would have loved another vegetable option. Our server Annemarie was so kind, friendly, and attentive. Overall we had a great time!
