Learned that this place is longer a food truck, but once we found the spot up on the pier, it was totally worth it! The staff were super friendly and offered great suggestions on flavors. The only tricky part was figuring out their hours, online it said they were open until 7, but when we showed up around 4 one day, they were already closed. Luckily, we came back the next day around lunchtime and got to enjoy some shaved ice. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

THE BEST OF THE BEST!!! I couldn’t wait to visit Cocoa Beach for the first time from NYC to sample one of these ices. The first ice, Kay was diligent in how she worked the counter. BUT the next day with Mike – his hospitality was top notch superb with helpful suggestions with my second ice. Before leaving to Orlando, I had to wait for them to open to buy one more with boba for the road. They are absolutely delicious!!!

Maui J’s is located on Cocoa Beach Pier. It’s an okay option if you’re looking for a treat while at the beach but I wouldn’t go out of my way to get it. I’m a fan of other types of ice like Pelican’s and Jeremiah’s and when you’ve had those, this one doesn’t compare. The flavors are watery and you can barely taste them and the pieces of ice are larger and not shaved as fine as others. I do love the bowls they’re served in which probably accounts for the pricing. (6.95/regular 8.95/large)

I grew up eating shaved ice in Hawaii and when I moved to the states I never found a placed. Came to cocoa beach for vacation and saw Maui j. The gentleman at the front was really nice and worked fast. For my folks who grew up in Hawaii, he had li hing mui powder!!!!!!!! I hate I’m leaving soon but I’m glad I got to get my shaved ice.

The family was craving some Hawaiian ice so we heading to Cocoa Beach. We stopped by the pier and checked out Maui J’s. Super good service, friendly Caucasian male was super nice and helpful. Big, real Hawaiian ice that were perfect on a hot day.

Amazing location, delicious flavors, and extremely kind staff. Slightly pricey but it’s worth it. They put lots of the ice in there and make sure the flavor goes throughout the entire thing. They also let you put lots of flavors in there for no extra cost.

Closed yet say they’re open. Terrible. All the way here for this joint paid $20.00 for parking & no shaved ice. Sad. With 6 kids. Go figure not our lucky day.

One of the best experiences I’ve ever had I at this moment can’t remember what the main guy that works in there name is but he was extremely helpful with me and my family with suggestions on what to get and I didn’t regret it my kids got a rainbow style and they fell in love with it I myself got a wedding cake with condensed milk and honey boba and my mouth fell in love will be coming back for that and my wife got the green apple, the only downside to the day is the amount of bees that were out there and we couldn’t completely enjoy our snow cups intact we had to throw them away because it was becoming to much but other then that great snow cones two thumbs up
