Maui Brewing is said to be the second largest beer producer in Hawaii. They make solid, tasty beers that are very good but probably not the top beers in the state. They are slightly thin but straightforward. There are other beers made in HI that are more complex and have fuller bodies.

Their coconut porter is a favorite. We actually prefer their regular coconut porter over their imperial. They have several IPAs that are quite good too.

The food was fine. The “jalapeño bacon burger” was good even though it barely had any jalapeños or bacon on it. It had two half pieces of bacon which probably doesn’t count as a bacon burger.

The truffle fries were good.

The server was great.

So why the missing star? It’s just that they are too… corporate? Formulaic? Too high-end generic. No soul? Hard to put our finger on it but we both felt that we were just given the experience. It’s good but generic.

We really prefer smaller craft breweries that truly care about how the customer feels when they go there.

This place was clean, nice looking, had good beer and food, and had very nice service, but we walked away thinking… meh.

food was good but missed the marks on the poke and truffle fries. although the presentation of the poke stack looked great, the flavor didnt quite hit it. same with the truffle fries – although the crunch and garlic flavor were good, it was missing the truffle flavor (even with the dip)

After a day of exploring the island, this was the perfect place to unwind. The Mac Nut Crusted Mahi Mahi tasted like Hawaiʻi on a plate—fresh local fish with a crispy macadamia nut crust, paired with Okinawan sweet potato, a refreshing watercress salad, crunchy taro chips, and a hint of coconut gel with lime vinaigrette. Every bite felt light and tropical, not heavy at all. Great food, relaxed island vibe, and a perfect stop for travelers looking for something local and well done.

I highly recommend the fish sandwich! It’s absolutely delicious! It’s not part of the happier hour, but totally worth it. The service is often just okay; there have been a few visits where it looked like employees were switching out shifts.

This guy took our drink order, then vanished. Another girl took over our table, and the guy came back at the end to give us the check. It was really odd, considering he didn’t assist us the entire time. The service wasn’t bad after we got the assistance we needed; it just came off as unorganized and confusing. I enjoy going here because the vibe is relaxing, almost as if you are on vacation. I prefer this location over the one in Waikiki, which is actually closer to my house.

I do not drink but I enjoy going and haveing a non-alcoholic beer that they have.

Had such a delicious lunch here! really filling vegan veggie burger. Unfortunately there wasn’t a ton of options for vegans here but I was super happy with my meal. My fiancé had really great fish and chips as well. Highly recommend trying this place

If you’re looking for a place to get a cold beer or a nice adult beverage then this is it. Their beer selection is pretty extensive and they’ll make about any drink for you. Our server was quick to take our orders. The kitchen turned the food out fairly quick. We had just eaten food from the festival next door but we ordered the nachos anyway. It’s a good quantity of chips, cheese, beans, meat and jalapeno peppers with some nice sour cream on top. The cheese was mostly found in the bottom of the bowl. The room could use some acoustical treatment as it was fairly hard to hear people that you’re trying to talk to. They even had live music at 7:00 p.m. It wasn’t overly loud, which was a nice touch.

Maui Brewing Co. in Kailua is a great spot with an easy, welcoming vibe.

The space is lively but relaxed, making it an enjoyable place to hang out without feeling crowded or rushed. The beer selection is a highlight—excellent IPAs alongside a solid collection of Japanese beers, offering something for a wide range of tastes.

The location is another big plus. It’s convenient, easy to get to, and has plenty of parking, which makes stopping by simple and stress-free. A dependable choice in Kailua for good drinks, good energy, and overall ease.

Friendly staff, Very good menu! We visited twice during happy hours from 3:30 to 5:30.
High quality fresh food and very tasty! “The Origami” pizza was just superb.
There would be friendly pigeons flying around but they would not disturb you!

Went for Happy Hour this visit, while it was very busy we had great service and food.
Started with crispy garlic black truffle fries, and we each ordered a pizza. Food came out quick and it was tasty. For dessert I had a root beer float and hubby & daughter had the adult version, made with a coconut porter of some sort.
Nice & refreshing! I do recommend
