Eerily quiet place. There was only a couple at table, who exited shortly afterward, leaving much on plates …so was kinda skeptical and worried. One other person at the counter.
Definitely a family run business.
Ordered big breakfast,a hash and eggs, pancake ( w chocolate chips, banana and sprinkles… minus sprinkles despite they’re on menu but not an actual option) and an egg white scramble.
Coffee was ok. On the weak side, but honestly better than most breakfast places, imo, nothing to write home about….
Silverware was super shiny and clean. Large juice sizes were actual large sized, which, definitely appreciated. Dishes/ food arrived hot to table, could still see steam off home fries, which was great. Generous portions and surprisingly, super full of flavor…. They actually know how to season food! Well. Most places barely season food or is so mild. Definitely appreciated the boldness of flavors, use of salt, pepper, paprika and other seasonings. Also appreciated that onions in all dishes and home fries were browned and nicely caramelized, which adds another little depth of flavor.
Hash was excellent. Homemade for sure! Full of flavor and a star of the dish.
The egg white scramble was light and full of caramelized onions; wished more spinach was involved, but still enjoyed it.
Pancake was big but not dense.
Was a good experience. Food was definitely the focus. Will return again in the future.
This wasn’t a bad thing. In fact, I’m glad the other place was closed. It was a very homey atmosphere. The server was great and very welcoming and friendly.
I ordered a Western omelet. With grilled English muffin and home fries.
The omelet was size and was very generous, as was the home fries.
The omelet was very well cooked. There was no shortage of seasoning on the home fries.
Matt’s Breakfast Nook is were me and my friend will meet for breakfast from now on. Highly recommend Matts
When we arrived, the restaurant was nearly empty — tons of open tables — but we were told there’d be an hour wait. No explanation, no “sorry,” just a flat estimate that didn’t make any sense.
We’re a younger couple, and I have a few facial piercings — which may have had nothing to do with it, but it’s the only thing that stood out. The woman who greeted us didn’t seem particularly happy to see us, and the vibe was not welcoming.
We’re nice, we swear. Just wanted breakfast. Hope others have better luck — or the right look.
