I’ve been going here since they opened and it has always been amazing! Moved out of CT (best move ever) and heard they retired and had someone new running the place into the ground, sorry to hear that but recently heard Dennis was back – WOOHOO!!! Great Italian food!! Hot or cold, take-out dinners, sandwiches, grinders, all types of salads & etc. They also offer catering for your special event. Their eggplant parm dinner is awesome, along with their homemade meat lasagna dinner & the sauce is fabulous; our family loves Mattei’s. It’s the Go-To stop for a great dinner to take home & enjoy. My friend’s mom’s boyfriend brought this to the beach. The eggplant was UNBELIEVABLE. We also had the chicken parm and ravioli, which were also great. But you have to get the eggplant. Thank you, Grace!

The food is absolutely fresh as well as delicious!!! The steak and cheese sub is the best and will make you salivate every time you think of eating one. Soups and pasta dishes are well seasoned and very flavorful. The staff is extremely friendly. Mattei’s is truly a gem in the Valley.
