Found my new go-to spot in downtown Freehold! I ordered the Upside Down Square Pizza and it lived up to the hype—perfectly crispy crust with high-quality sauce and cheese. We also tried the Vodka Chicken Parm, and the portion size was huge!
The staff was incredibly friendly from the moment we walked in, and the food came out hot and fresh. Whether you’re grabbing a quick slice or a full Italian dinner, Mateo’s is easily one of the best in the area. 10/10 recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The dining area is casual and inviting, making it an ideal setting for families, where patrons are never made to feel rushed.
The pizza is exceptional; I particularly recommend the cheese pie with extra sauce and the upside-down pie. During my most recent visit, I ordered the spaghetti and meatball dinner, which featured a generous portion size, a sauce that was among the most delicious I have ever tasted, and two substantial meatballs seasoned with distinct Italian spices. They also have a very interesting dessert menu and their coffee/cappuccino is scrumptious.

We ordered seafood for Christmas Eve and every dish was absolutely amazing! Sole, mussels, linguini and clam sauce, and calamari. Absolutely delicious! Better than Livottis and they delivered the meals HOT! Gone are the days where we sit in an hour line at Livottis only to bring home cold food. The mussels were huge too!

My boss and I got lunch. Not bad and it was actually the only thing near by that was open. I liked my chicken sandwich with Brocolli rabe and mozzarella but I don’t think i would go out of my to come back. Pizza is ok. Nothing too great.

Mateos used to be a great place. Recently things have gone downhill. We ordered a plain pizza which arrived cold and burnt on the bottom. Seems like thier oven could use a good cleaning.

Storefront pizza place in Freehold center. An extensive menu with about 30 pizza varieties, subs, sandwiches, appetizers, soups, salad, pasta, even burgers. I had plain slices, which were soupy and very limp, but with good classic pizza taste. Boatload of softdrinks, including soda, most major ice tea brands, Pellegrino, even Stewart’s root beer and black cherry. About 10 tables in comfortable dining area. Friendly service.

Always satisfying on time and delicious. Our post vacation MO is pizza, mozzarella sticks and a chicken Parm. Nothing like coming home to greet me out thanks for keeping us happy on castle dr at Crown pointe!
