My experience dining at The Matador restaurant was immensely pleasant. The food presentation was appealing. I ordered the steak quesadilla that was accompanied by Pico de gallo, guacamole, Cilantro, and a handcrafted sour cream. I also indulged in an adult beverage. I didn’t see anything on the drink list that was eye catching so I asked for a strawberry lemon drop with sugar on the rim and it was quite tasty. The ambiance was nice and the fire pit on the table top by the bar was beautiful. The music kept us rocking. If you’re looking for an upscale Mexican restaurant give The Matador a try.

Happy hour is crazy good value and the food was phenomenal. Some of the best nachos I’ve ever had, they actually layer the ingredients and put it in the oven not just under a heat lamp. Brussels sprouts were fantastic as well. Our waitress Kayla was great too!

This is nice place for basically any type of date night, romantically or a girls night. I absolutely love the setting of the restaurant. The parking lot is really small so if you are with a group, try to carpool. Food is amazing, staff is great. Our waiter was Lake and he was the best. Very funny and friendly. I’ll definitely be back.

We sat at the bar and overall service was good, only downside was that getting the check to leave took a while.
My buddy and I got loaded nachos and queso to share (unfortunately there was no plain queso, so I got charged the full amount for the fancy one without any of the fancy things). He got tacos, and I got the spicy burrito. I was unprepared for how spicy it was, even though the server did her damndest to make sure I was prepared. Still, a great meal. Excited to return!

We went twice over our trip! Excellent food and service from our waiter: Josh, who we had both times we came in! Wonderful food. The ahi tuna starter is delicious, blending the sour taste of lemon and ponzu mayo on a cracker with avocado. The wagyu burger was juicy and delicious, being served on a fancy bun that we had never seen before but was very good. The Brussel sprouts starter is also great. Portion sizes are great so we were able to fill up on only starters! Great atmosphere and food for a pretty nice price, good serving sizes, etc. Highly recommend stopping by here if you visit Charleston!

We made reservations. We were seated quickly. The ambiance is nice. The waitresses were kind. The food wasn’t that great. It was all right. Nothing to talk about. I had a dragonfruit margarita. It wasn’t bad. My boyfriend a Cadillac margarita. That was not good at all. Inhad shredded beef enchiladas. He had the mango steak tacos. Neither of us were impressed.

Jordan, our waiter was fantastic! He gave us great service with a beautiful smile . Food was all yummy and everyone left there with full tummy! I highly recommend Matador for a wonderful dining experience!

Beautiful decorations and bar with very nice ambiance. Service was a bit slow despite there being few tables. Fajitas had great flavor but the chicken and steak were slightly charred/burnt.

Came here once about a year ago and service and food was great. Came back a few days ago and my how things have changed. I came Friday during lunch hour and it wasn’t dead, but not busy either. I was seen walking in and yet the staff took their time to greet me. Whatever. I sat at the bar where the bartender was friendly but became highly inattentive when she noticed I hadn’t touched my food after the first bite. (Overpriced, super underwhelming quesadilla). All while she was skirting around chatting and checking on everyone else. It took her over 30 mins to check back in (as I’m sitting right in front of her). I wanted to see how long it would go on before I had to actually stop her. 30 FULL minutes was my limit. Had I not said anything to her, im sure she would’ve just kept walking right by me. Which is why she got no tip. I probably will not come back.

I have been wanting to try this place for months. Finally, I had the opportunity to go for National Tequila Day!! Unfortunately, it wasn’t what I expected. The service was horrible. My friend n I sat at the end of the bar towards entrance. We sat there for about 15 mins until a bartender finally came over and took our order. After that, we never saw her again. She never acknowledged us the rest of our visit. Smh. The other bartender helped everyone else tyst sat around and never even looked our way. It was very unusual behavior from the servers. Food took a while as well. We had street tacos, chicken, and beef. Then the nachos no meat. Very good choices. Then the drinks Mexican margaritas. Yummy. Thank goodness the drinks and food were delicious, but that service needs to change. Definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. Overall the restaurant is nice, the parking is very limited, the food is great. Hopefully, whenever I decide to check it out again, the service will be better, and I actually get acknowledged.
