We’ve lived in Rochester for just over a year, and finally had dinner at Mason Dixon tonight. What a cute place, with really great owner operators. The service was excellent and the food was to die for! They graciously worked with my food allergies, and we appreciated their knowledge. We will definitely be back!!

Very friendly owners! Felt right at home as if I where eating at gran and pas!!! The food was AMAZING! Best steak ever! I had the smoked steak cooked perfectly and the flavor was amazing! Boyfriend had the house seasoned steak and it was just as good! Three different sides all amazing and the garlic bread was to die for!!! I’d be happy go back once a week till I try everything on the menus

Very nice little restaurant in heart of Rochester. A somewhat unique (in a good way)dinning experience, manned by the 2 owners, Steve and Missy. A personal feel and connection with the staff (owners). The food is always quite good. Prices are fair to good.

The owners are the weirdest two people to work in food service ever. I will start off by saying the food was great, done in a Southern American style but the owners can’t have spent much time in the south because they lack any of the Southern hospitality that accompanies good Southern food. They were both short, snippy and rude with us and forcefully suggested when and how to eat our meal and how to view their homemade items. Learn some customer service.
Let me be clear, the speed of the service was not the issue – all of our items were served in a timely manner; but that the owners were rude. Just look at the owners own response – they made a generalization about us as soon as we walked in the door and treated us accordingly. The owner would like to make it appear like we were these pushy people who were in a rush; in fact, that couldn’t be further from the truth. We intended to sit patiently and chat but the owner kept returning, badgering us, and telling us how and when to eat our food “here is your knives for this”, “now heres your bread”, “you probably want to eat the bread before the food comes”, “there is a menu of all of our fudge flavors” (because we dared to actually look at the fudge).

Amazing BBQ in a strange little restaurant. Service and food is excellent. A little odd when you first walk in because the door opens to a hallway. You walk through and to your left, opening to about 6 tables… I imagine it might get quite busy for such a small place, but the BBQ was well worth it. They also sell their own sauces, jams, and chocolate.

The owner was blunt and rude. Made a comment about the high chairs for my two year old daughter and it being in the bathroom. The whole atmosphere was horrible, my chicken was frozen and defrosted and then heated. Ribs where ok but super pricy for the “full” rack when it was really only a half rack. I won’t be visiting this again.

This is not a review more of a question my husband and i have been wanting to try this place for a while I drive by it almost everyday, last week we stopped by and it was closed? the hours on here say it was open. but now I am seeing in the reviews from another guest that you are closed during summer months.i was just wanting to see when you are open so we can come in.
