I can’t believe that I slept on this one for so long. As someone who appreciates clean, mindful eating, this cafe certainly checks the box on all fronts for me. Don’t let the unassuming exterior fool you. The food is top-notch, and you’ll find warm, home-style, high-quality, vegan food here. They definitely run out of food fast, so highly recommend going in earlier. I may have also met the owner, Masao, who runs the place today and he’s incredibly sweet.

The owner was startled that I walked into the place, and with a disposable food container at hand asked me if it my meal was to go. I sat down and had lunch there, no other customers were greeted the same way. The food was really good, and so was dessert. The ambience was laid-back and everything was clean. I left a tip and thanks on the way out; no response. Vegan food is supposed to elevate people’s consciousness. I don’t know, I’ll give it another go next time and see if things are different.

This place is really good and really cool. It is not fancy, but you can tell the owner works there. The focus is on high quality great tasting food that is real. It is buffet style, you pick what you want and pay by weight. There is limited seating and there were people at the door before it opened on a Thursday evening.

Best healthy restaurant in Massachusetts! My whole family loves this place! They have a buffet of vegan options and you pay by the weight of your plate. It’s very affordable. If you’re looking for a great atmosphere or fine dining, this isn’t the place. But if you want to leave with a happy tummy, not feeling gross, this is the stop!

Masao’s Kitchen is one of the best vegan home style food places I’ve ever had in my life, I’m so lucky & blessed to live in the neighborhood! His seitan cutlet is absolutely the best one I’ve ever had, and it somehow gets even better when he does it BBQ style! I go to Masao’s routinely, and it is always the highlight of my day. I have never had anything at Masao’s I didn’t love.

I had their vegan noodle bowl (small) By no means am I a vegan but to my surprise it was very good. The vegetable brother was full-bodied and the tempura veggie was a nice touch. The small filled me up, but they do have a large for double the price, so if that’s your jam you’re in good hands.

So pleased they’re open for dinner now! We come here fairly often on the weekend, and we also have Masao’s cookbook, which is fantastically simple to follow.

Wow this place was awesome. Had the buffet today and tried a little bit of everything. Will probably get a little bit of everything every time I go because it was all very good. Potato salad was excellent and very different from your traditional one you expect. The BBQ Tofu was really good too. Tasty place. Definitely recommend to check out if you’re vegan/vegetarian or just like plain old good food.

This is a cafeteria-style, vegan restaurant, charging $10/lb. If you are getting takeout, I highly advise you to make your own rice at home, because this is a lot of money to spend on rice. Beyond that, the food is quite good, and the man at the register (whom I believe was the owner) was a super nice guy. I’m looking forward to returning.

My 13 year old son says “it’s the best food I’ve ever had besides whipped cream.” lol Most important ingredient at Maseo’s love! We always feel good when we leave. We continue to feel good after. PS I would like to know what the ONE negative reviewer normally eats? If you are accustomed to salty, sugary, processed foods, this is not your place. If you appreciate clean, organic, beautiful food and a MORE than reasonable price, this is the place! Don’t come too often though…small place and we go often. :)))
