So glad we found this place in Oceanside. I always find it strange when a place has a printed menu with prices, and then lists a permanent discount on those prices to make it seem like you’re getting a deal, when in actuality they should just have the menu printed with the actual prices and not inflated prices that then get discounted. Besides that very small technicality, we had a great time. The food was fresh and delicious—just they way you want sushi to be:) The udon soup and chicken katsu were also very good. The katsu was enough to share or take leftovers home for lunch the next day. The place got a little busy at 7pm, but the food came out pretty quick.

An excellent dining experience. The staff was friendly, accommodating and answered any questions we had regarding items on the menu. I ordered the Steak Teriyaki Box. It was cooked perfectly, it was tender and delicious. The California Roll was fresh and very tasty. The Shumai was prepared perfectly and the Miso Soup was also delicious. I give this restaurant 5 stars and highly recommend it for an excellent meal..

This place has good food and the inside is nice. I ordered an avocado salad many times from here and I notice that the pieces of lettuce are huge! I don’t think they cut the lettuce whatsoever. I felt like a slob eating it because the lettuce was so big I couldn’t fit it into my mouth. Also a few times the avocado has been rotten in my rolls and salads. Also there is two waitresses I believe. They are friendly but when it’s busy there is only two of them so you are kept waiting for a while. As you are talking to them they rush away mid sentence because there are so many people they have to get to!

Finding good sushi in Oceanside is nearly impossible but if you’re unfortunate enough to order from Masago you have truly found the bottom of the bottom. While you cannot claim false advertising, the rolls are a bit of a misrepresentation. The actual amount of fish inside or on top is razor thin and of questionable character. I feel like I was robbed. You get what you pay for or in this case, far less.. I really can’t stress this enough. This is gas station sushi. A gas station somewhere in Kansas. No where near the ocean.

Tasty drinks, really great sushi with lots of variety on the menu. Everything is always fresh and really delicious all at 30-50% off which makes a night out for sushi affordable for a change! Our only issue which I detracted one star for is they never have dessert.
