Hubby and I did some Black Friday shopping and built up quite the appetite! Left me craving good old home cooking comfort food and knew exactly where to go, Mary’s! Hubby had the fried haddock and I ordered the hot beef with mashed potatoes. Both meals were so delicious! I can’t say enough about our experience. Our server Patti was so friendly and took such great care of us! We both can’t wait to go back…btw, the fresh brewed tea tasted just like being down south and the dumpling soup rivals any grandma could have made!

Today my server Alexa was the sweetest, most funniest server I’ve ever had before, her personality EXACTLY like mine so our vibes were just eating together. I mentioned it was my birthday and she was just beyond sweet and funny to my family and I. I really wish we had more customer service/servers like her in the world. She’s such a girl boss.

Basic breakfast place, food was ok. It was cold in there, and decor and seating is dated. It is reasonably priced, nothing spectacular. Busy parking lot every time I go past but I found the service, food, and atmosphere underwhelming. Would not go back unless I just had OJ.

Cute little diner! Stopped by with my family and we were impressed by the service and food! Our server Athena was attentive and kind. Portions are huge and there are plenty of options for dietary restrictions.

We visited Mary’s quite often when my kids were younger. Haven’t been there for years. Always had good chicken. In the neighborhood, so I decided to pick up a 12 piece. It was very expensive, but their chicken was always good. Very dry and tasted burnt. Will not be back.

Carrie and Alexa are absolutely amazing when we come here every Sunday. they both make us feel welcomed and are very friendly. We always come here every Sunday just to have either Carrie or Alexa be our server.

Waited for 10 minutes at the door. Never acknowledged even thought the host was maybe 5ft away. He never once said anything or even motioned that he saw us. He was helping someone for maybe the first 3 minutes. They were not very busy and it only takes 1 second to say “Hi! Be with you in a minute!” Having been in the restaurant industry before I give alot of grace…. but having a family standing in front of you for 10minutes and not even acknowledging they are there is absolutely unacceptable. Won’t be back.

I’m writing this review with a heavy heart, as I genuinely believe this is the only way to express my sadness over what I perceive as the “gradual decline of Mary’s.” Before 2020, things were different. I haven’t had a proper full breakfast at Mary’s since 2019, and I appreciate a classic diner experience if everything stays the same! However, I feel this restaurant desperately needs a major makeover.

When I walked in, the service was okay, but they seemed understaffed, and I don’t blame them for that—good help is hard to come by. My concern started when I noticed a sour smell in the restaurant that seemed to follow me throughout my visit and even into the taste of my extremely overpriced food.

Let’s talk about how long the food took to come out. It was a very long wait for the number of customers dining, but not so long that I was worried. Again, understaffed equals slow food running.

My biggest concern was the price. I paid $18 (not including tip) for an omelet, a pancake, and an orange juice. I can walk down the street and get the same thing for $8 less!

I guess my reason for writing this is that it saddens me to see Mary’s struggling. They’re going the way of major price increases, lack of staff, and no new carpets. Maybe they should try a scented candle?

One final note, I will update my review if Mary’s does improve and address these concerns.

I’ve been coming here with my wife and kids for the past 35 years. And they have always served the best chicken dinners in the area.
