Update 12/3/24: Pizzas are now $8. Still, ridiculously cheap for a whole pie.
$7 for a 13 inch tasty pie?
Fresh tomatoes in the sauce?
Any and all toppings, same price?
Ok! Green Pepper ‘n Onion .
Please and thank you.

Sauce is sweet.
Pizza is great.
Crust is thin, chewy.
Sicilian style slices.
Price can’t be beat.

30 mins from order to pickup.
This is my new fav!

P.S. Knock. Doorbell’s out.

You must call in your order for pick-up. The man and woman running the place are very nice. Pizza, no matter the toppings, is $8. It’s a lot larger than one would think. It was better fresh and hot than later once the cheese cooled. I’ve never had a sauce like this, it’s very sweet. I can’t wait to get another pizza from here.

The sauce is so sweet. I know a lot of folks in Pennsylvania love sweet tomato sauces to cut the acidity, but I am not a fan. The toppings are pretty good. The crust is not crisp and crunchy, it’s more like a pan pizza. Kind people, good service!

Great little hidden gem! They’ve been making pizza out of their basement kitchen since the 60’s! Yes, it’s a pizza shop in a house!
A 13″ pizza is what they sell, and 6 toppings to choose from for $8, no matter what you get on it.
The crust is a little dense and chewy, but delicious. The sauce a little sweet, and it goes great with the pepperoni. I get double pep. Sweet and a little spicy. Great quality cheese an sauce. Addictive pizza imo. A must try for pizza lovers. Great people and great pizza.

I’ve been eating this pizza since I was young kid. It has undergone virtually no changes over several decades. It will be forever my favorite food until the day I die (unless the recipe changes). It’s a sweet sauce, the dough composition is very unique, and the cheese has a secret taste and density to it. The single size (medium-ish) pizza is all they sell but toppings do not cost extra. I used to only eat plain because it’s almost too good to put toppings on. It’s inexpensive ($8), pick up only, it’s hidden in a residential basement, and hours of operation are limited. I eat a lot of pizza, many different pizzas, and none enhance my mood more than Mary Jo’s.

Excellent pizza for the price ($6 for a good sized pizza with as many toppings as you want!), but not my favorite. Sauce and crust are fairly sweet, so there is not enough of a flavor contrast for my liking.
Toppings and cheese are good, but I wish the toppings were more flavorful, and perhaps the cheese could be a bit higher quality.
HOWEVER, the people are very friendly and for the price ($6 pizza!), it is, again, excellent.
Also, I would say it is a really good pizza for kids. Ours (5yo and 1yo) loved it.

This pizza is one of the best pie pizzas that I ever had. I am from Steubenville Ohio so I get to enjoy that really good Square pizza with cold cheese on top weekly, but this place is definitely a hidden . That is half of the reason why I enjoyed it so much. The fact that it’s a house on a one way street slanging za out of the basement is so nostalgic. I honestly drove by and parked up the street wondering if it was even a real pizza joint. I stepped out of the truck and could smell the pizza from a block up. I walked down and was greeted by an extremely nice lady and was informed she was sold out for the day so I placed an order for the next day to take it home to the family after work. I finished my shift the next day and went and picked up 2 pizzas one regular and one with only cheese. Drove them over an hour back home and the 7yo and her mom absolutely loved it. Prices were great, $7 a pie no matter how many toppings. We will be ordering again soon.

They have the BEST pizza I have ever tried! The woman at the door is the sweetest person I have ever had the pleasure of talking with and the sauce is by far the best part and must be the family secret ingredient of this masterpiece! The price will shock anyone! No matter how many toppings you should want, the price is always the same. Be prepared to have a pizza party in your mouth! You will never want to dine for pizza anywhere else after having Mary Jo’s pizza! A secret tucked away in good ole Turtle Creek!

I grew up in NEPA and just moved here. I searched for a pizza shop near me and saw all the great reviews so, I bought a sausage pie and a mushroom pie. Both pies were terrible! It was like I ordered pizza from a high school Home Ec. class! The crust was kind of ok but, the cheese had a funny taste and the sausage pie was too salty. The sauce tasted like it came from an Aldi’s brand can. Maybe I’m spoiled because of growing up in the W-B/Scranton area and having top tier pizza any time I wanted?! Not sure but this area is depressed of quality pizza. JMHO
